The recommendations made by Minister James should be seriously considered. There may also be need for psychiatric assessment of persons wishing to join the profession.
We must not leap before we look.these are irrational statements by mr. James Becuase at the end of the day you are still going to have these problems what i suggest is that we enfore the law.Give an example let the teache be arrested and taken to the court od law. Mr James suggestion is a means of evading justice for the child. Do not let it go so. If he is out of state issue a WANTED SIGN WITH HIS NAME ON IT AND WHERE EVER IS HIS DESTINATION LET THE POLICE GO AND LOOOK FOR HIM> DONT let me tell you lazy government workers and government officials how to do you all jobs. if it was cockaine you will find it.
The Minister of Education is on the right track. Why don't we encourage this as a first step for teachers who are now in the system and for newcomers.
Why does the last comment sound like the author of a previos article-concerning the teachers union and the pay rise.
We need to stop being so partisan and work together for the best interest of our country.
I now reside in the Bahamas and we St.Lucians should learn from the patriotism of this people-country's good name first and foremost.

The recommendations by the Minister can be considered. However, I want to be devil's advocate and beg the question as to howe this recommendation will take into account teachers who may be coming from sister countries within Caricom? We do not have the capacity to investigate them that far, so how do we handle such a case?( That is, considering the opening of the market to professionals such as teachers)
THAT BOY NOT MAN cause he hasn't grown to any level to be called that just sick...some time when he had just started teaching I met him n when he told me what was his profession I was in shock and started laughing at him because I know him to be shy (VICIOUSNESS) and barely use to open his mouth in class so how was he to teach primary/infant school children. To me I blame the principal soley on the fact that she knew what was going on also the education system for hiring people who have not been fully trained or examined. I hope they catch him and he pays!!
