Mr. Springer give St. Lucians credit as having so common sense and being a lot more educated. I was under the impression and from your Government statement that the Taiwanese are here to help St. Lucia and St. Lucian but here you are talking about Labour villages. This article is just about you singing for your Taiwan supper and please leave Jehovah out of your hypocritical comments. Jehovah sees his children not UWP & SLP.

Suzzy, I agree.

All Springer does is talk whiles we have quacks passing off as doctors in our politics.

Perhaps it's time for action?

A Master's Degree in Conflict Resolution? What a shame. I wish Miss Lorraine Schafter and his professors could see these articles. I should probably get their emails and send it to them.

Mr Springer is simply a waste of a human resource.

Like I said before, an education is a dangerous tool in the hands of a fool. I rest my case.

I have no problem with Springer. He loves Taiwanese dollar and Kenny loves Chinese yen.

They both are arse kissers.

You cannot compare Springer to Kenny, Springer is singer for his supper but Kenny was a hard working P.M. We all Lucians loved the Chinese yen, not only Kenny.

Since you love the Chinese yen so much how comes you have not gone to work/live China.

You think its easy over there? They waiting for you to come over. You won't have to bend over to get your yen. You only have to obey oppressive rules, collect your yen on a side and a bowl of rice.

I am not going to compare Kenny to Springer because one is a low end Taiwanese prostitute and the other one a high end Chinese stripper for yen.

I told you they were different. Didn't I.

You still have the ancient view of the past China. China is one of the world economic super power or giant. This is a new China. The people no longer depend upon a bowl of rice to survive. The place is modernised just like the U.S.A . Read, read, read and listen to world news, you will learn. The people of China live such a high standard of living, that they do not even worry about the oppressive government. Compared to the people in St Lucia, who is suffering with no work, we have to worry about our incompetent and scandalous government.

'You won't have to bend over to get your yen'.....LMAO..Lord have mercy, I'm laughing so hard I think I've broken a few ribs.

It's true though, they treat people like slaves in China and human rights is so bad we wouldn't last a day. Still laughing...

We have freedom though, China doesn't. You wouldn't even be able to blog if you were in Chin.

Where do we get these ignorant "intellectuals" from? China is like the USA? Garcon go and read before you start talking crap. China is a developing nation where millions are catching their rare. It's streets are not paved with gold. Poverty is rampant throughtout that place.

Okay people. It's time to PAY CHU.

LOL

I too find this very funny. Trust St Lucians. LOL

The bright side is that we don't have to bend over..lol

JEANA, If China is so much a developing country, and so much of its people go hungry, how can they borrow Trillions of dollar all around the world, to so many countries including the mighty U.S.A. China have felt a little from the economic melt down these days, But their economic is stronger than most counties around the world. There was a time when companies in China use to apply to students for employment it their firms, instead of the other way round. That is how prosperous China has become. You are still thinking the China of the past. We have a modern China now.

Yeah, a modern china squeezing the blood out of it's people to make money. It's modern slavery and the money is blood money.

Explain to us what do you mean by that.

Google amnesty international, look-up 2009 report the see china.

I went to the sit, all i see is human rights issues, i see nothing about any economic crisis in China, and that is my point.

If that is all Springer can write after studying so hard to earn a masters degree, them the degree is of no use to him, trying to make us believe that everything is perfect with England politics, and only our opposition is criticising for criticising sake. Then Springer should stay in England and leave our opposition alone. I cannot understand, why a so called educated man, see it fit to still criticise an opposition, which was voted out office, when we have a government which is mismanaging the country very badly, with a set of incompetent ministers creating scandals after scandals on a daily basic. Why can't he use his knowledge to advise the government, if he love his country so much. Criticising the opposition is of no help to St Lucia.

Reading this response is very condescending, to say the least. Yes, there may be some extra development here and there but, in the big scheme of things; how can you write such a letter to the people?
Firstly, how may St.Lucian's have visited Taiwan; or are living lavishly like some of the Taiwanese are living in St. Lucia over the last ten years? Not, that many Lucians, and probably just a handful, if that many. The Taiwanese government and people would never allow a black person to live and prosper as their countrymen are doing here in St.Lucia. It is not racism. It is reality.
Mr. Springer you are a true sellout to the support of St. Lucian's. No matter what goes on we have to protect what we have. You mentioned taxes and all that but what is the world without taxes? Let's look at this for a minute or two. Scholarships? Who are getting them? Not the struggling boy or girl whose parents are farming the land. Nor is it the student who is fighting to learn. It's the politicians and their friends children. I gather you have not lived abroad often and if you have , then my friend you are a fool to believe that the Taiwanese government is giving St. Lucia all this help without stabbing us in the back, later down the line.
Yes, we should accept aide form different countries but, when that source of help has the tongue of a snake; and that has been documented with historical facts. We as St. Lucian's should be cautious.
As someone as old as you are, I would think that your information would be more encouraging than simply making a fool of yourself and Lucian's as the world can easily read it.
There is no way, that elected officials should be hog hungry with any deal that is presented. The question you should have asked is why is the Tawanese government so interested in helping the island of St. Lucia. Is it easy to get a visa to Tawain for a vacation. NO. NO. NO. Not even from the US.
And your insultive words "crabs in a black box" who do you think you are?
Simply put, if the British govenment imposes taxes St. Lucian has to do the same. The same way we are shipped back home after arriving at London's Heathrow or Gatwick airport because of not having sufficient funds to present to them, or to show probable cause that we can work in their United kingdom then we should have the same measure of control on British, American or any other citizen from a foreign country who shows up at our ports of entry.
I think you should have lived. And I really mean lived life. I seems you have lived life on a pretentious pedestale in other major countries before insulting our common knowledge of what getting help is.
