The topic of the lecture "Ethics in Public Life" is very timely and I cannot impress upon the public officers,members of parliament, and all politicians and prospective politicians the importance of attending such a lecture.

What we have seen in terms of the behaviour of some of the holders of public office in our country suggests that they either have no clue about the concept of ethics and ethical behaviour.

Hopefully that lecture will be well attended and the attendees will learn something that will guide their behaviour in public office.
