Good One Micah but I have two observatios. First, it is not "that Francois did not have a doctoral degree (doctrate) which most Saint Lucians thought he had and which Francois did not dispel when he entered politics." It is Francois himself who made Saint Lucians believe he had a doctorate; he ran the 1997elections with a big Dr. in front of his name; he took the oath of office with a big Dr. in front of his name; he spent nearly an entire term in office with a big Dr. in front of his name; he represented Saint Lucia overseas with a big Dr. in front of his name; he releaesed christmas calendars with a big Dr. in front of his name. You get the point? Francois willingly and knowlingly decieved everybody from Kenny to his Cabinet colleagues to the Soufriere electorate and the Saint Lucia public. It is not that he failed to correct a perception. He encouraged the belief he had a doctorate.
second, when Mondesir told Chastanet and Cabinet the Bonne Terre apartment was part of Tuxedo villas, Chastanet and Cabinet had the opportunity to check the original Cabinet Conclusion back when Tuxedo received the first set of concessions. I suspect the Comptroller of Customs did his homework and realized all along that Mondesir was not telling the truth. The only conculsive evidence Mondesir needed to show was the original concessions. Neither Chastanet or Chastanet asked him for it. They did not do their homework, instead he took Mondesir at his word. Surely they must have known Mondesir's word is totally worthless.
" But the mere fact that a court of law saw it fitting ... to quash the Cabinet Conclusion that sought to make a house in Bonne Terre ... a part of Tuxedo Villas ... is guilt enough for me."
The court of law did not find Dr. Mondesir guilty of anything, but you do, even though you previously wrote, " I agree that from a legal perspective Mondesir should be presumed innocent of any charges levelled against him until proven guilty in a court of law."
The thing is the court did not consider Mondesir's guilt or innocence and that is the real problem. Cottle only found the decision of Cabinet did not make sense so technically Micah is not confusing the issues
What do you mean, man? Micah is calling Mondesir guilty when no court found him guilty. If Mondesir is not guilty, then Micah's piece has no foundation to stand on.
You all can look for all the technicalities you all want in the court discussion, the fact is the this whole government have to go, not only Mondersir. They all are part and parcel of whats going on in this case. They all sat in cabinet broke the law, by making the discussion to allow Mondesir to evade custom duties.

You are contradicting yourself, man.

Mondesir is a disgrace to his office and the Nation as a whole.
