The Government needs to build a bigger terminal!!! at UVF. Landing on a sunday afternoon at UVF in the winter can be a pain in the butt!!. Some times not even parking place for your airline, then the immigration lines are long. We really need to upgrade this airport.
We don't need two airports.
FTA: "Traffic at Hewanorra International Airport is heaviest on Saturdays and Sundays while GFLC gets steady traffic on a daily basis."
Hewanorra is seldom operating at capacity. That's lost maintenance dollars.
Not in the winter, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays,Fridays,Saturday and Sundays traffic is very heavy there. You can't have a departure lounge, with no places for people to sit. You can't have immigration lines so long ready to reach out side. Well they ask the Brazilian Government for money in building a new airport terminal with jet bridges and new taxi ways etc. I hope they help us out because with increase airlift we need the space.
