Bravo! Bravo! Micah George.

You have, in that piece, certainly dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's...no room for mis-understanding your GREAT informative piece.

May God bless and keep you to continue writing, unbiasedly, as that.

Sadly, I cannot say that of the other newspaper (which is a dis-grace to the nation).

Keep them coming, Micah!

Don't put water in your mouth to say it as it is.

Micah I could hold you tight on this one!!!! WOW!!!! you echoed my sentiments exactly!!!! We fail to realise that WE have the power in our hands and WE decide whether good or bad people get into office or not. The resaon why nepotism, corruption and cronysim continues is because we have lost all moral standing in the name of materialism, greed, politics and power. My grandmother would say "we sell or soul for the guts of sadines". Most of us espouse the values of the politicians in office at present and we see nothing wrong in whats taking place. Some of us dispite spending years at a University educating ourselves, would return to political patronage to feed our families and take care of our material lives while also becoming the proverbial ostrich. Our entire MORAL sustem is in decay and unless we begin to repair that I suppose we are doomed to fail MISERABLY!!!!!

Micah, a county ALWAYS gets the government that it deserves. If you vote or don't vote, you get the government you deserve.

If you don't ON A VERY PERSONAL AND PROACTIVE BASIS, AGITATE, YES AGITATE for the kind of government that YOU want, you get the kind that the idiots voted in.

If you keep silent, you will not have a clue as to what differently might have been achieved, if you had opened your mouth. 'Cowards die many times before their deaths.'

If you vote for miscreants, jailbirds, drug barons, haughty and aloof people, and those who talk loud but do not have a plan to effectively change social and economic conditions, you are fooling yourself. If you do not have a plan, then you are failing to plan. If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail.

For example, the SLP has in the past, and has said so already lately, that it is waiting to get into office to know how exactly to tackle our problems. What does this say to a person with deep understanding of change?

Answer: Neither Kenny, nor the leadership of SLP is honest enough to tell us that they know anything about contingency planning.

Yeap! The SLP up to now, do not have a plan other than to regain the government.

When a so-called Finance Minister, borrows money and pours that money into a stop-gap programme which is paying people a stipend, but expects this to prime the pump and create a multiplier effect with just one guaranteed tier of circulation, you know that the man knows absolutely nothing about economics and creating an effective economic recovery plan.

As they say, that when we make the same mistake of re-electing people who do the same things over and over again and expect different results, doing this describes the behaviour of very insane people.

Perhaps, Micah, you can help our people to stop behaving like mad people. I wish you a lot of luck for our sake.

Kensley Peter Charlemagne said...

Micah does not need luck. Change as i have said in another place is not wrought by great speeches written and ideas spoken but in action taken. The question is what are you doing personally about all the problems identified?

Well done Micah George, and Kensley Peter Charlemagne, between you, you have raised the heat on the political system. I hope people heed your advice and start challenging what the politicians propose in the next election. I hope the sytem changes, vegetarians and people who don't drink should support Divergent collectivism, it goes a long way to bringing democracy to the island.

Your article has some valid and strong statements Mr. George, and I like that; nevertheless, I beg of you, please polish your grammatical skills if only for one reason, i.e., to make yourself thoroughly understood.

Often, I am forced to reread and reconstruct several of your sentences before their real meaning can be adequately discerned.

Expressing oneself clearly and accurately is the primary skill required of good writers and orators.

Micah, good article, but it could well have been written 10 years ago. Micah were you there when the sister of Minister of External Affairs Petrus Compton got a job at the High Commission in London that was headed by Kenny Anthony's cousin? Were you there when the driver at the UN mission was fired and replaced by Claudius Francis' brother? Were you there during 10 years of SLP rule when no home for battered girls was built? Did you support Flavia Cherry's call for such a home? Just asking Micah. We cannot lose our voice when it suits us and find it when it suits us. We have to be consistent in opposing wrong every time we see its ugly face.

Kensley Peter Charlemagne said...

Thanks for the commendation and thanks for the laugh. Well it is said that the mind of vegetarians as less clogged, Divergent Collectivism is collective. It call for national participations. Action taken will change the system. We have a world of evidence to attest to that fact. (Pun intended)

It calls for national participations. Action taken will change the system. We have a world of evidence to attest to that fact. (Pun intended)

Mr Editor hats off to you for being so fearless and forthright in this article. A wake up call to all St. Lucians. Great job.

Here's my response to the article on the police shootings in this issue.

Hold up here something seem to be amiss here. Nothing with regards to the circumstances under which these persons were shot. Did the police have to discharge their firearm to effect an arrest?

I think they are becoming a little too trigger happy with no accountability. Not even the usual "a firearm was recovered" excuse. Come on people, no one sees nothing wrong with this situation?

I have had occasion to support police action involving a fatality on this board when I thought they might have been justified, but to willy nilly shoot unarmed robbery suspects is nothing but the police exacting their pound of flesh in anticipation of an acquital for lack of evidence or some other technicality.

We must not allow this thing to go unchallenged or unquestioned before too long we will all be living in a police state where even the innocent will become victims of over zealous trigger happy policemen.

I caution St. Lucians not to let this irresponsible police behaviour which borders on criminality take root. We must all support the police in their crime fighting efforts but not to the extent to give them carte blanche "authority", wittingly or unwittingly, to shoot at will. A word to the wise.

Reading the Voice tonight I suddenly understand what the LPM mean by asking the SLP to RENOUNCE HYPOCRISY. All of a sudden SLP has no sins. Have we lost our minds!!!

Anonymous said...

Stop being a hypocrite yourself, who ever said SLP have no sins? The point here is, we voted out SLP for their sins, we voted the UWP and expect them to do BETTER and not repeat the mistakes of the SLP. As a matter of fact they promise us the world and said they would have done better. So it does not make any sense to say the SLP did this and that so they cannot talk now, because we voted them out for these same mistakes. It is the UWP that is in office now and they should govern above board as they promised us.

Anonymous said...

Very simple as you have put it, above, to this anonymous.

We punished and voted SLP out. So the focus now should be on the UWP who promised the world and some, but all they have delivered are scandals after weekly scandals.

Please someone, anyone, tell me what have the UWP accomplished in the nearly 5 years since they have been in office. I am not here talking about the half-asrsed projects undertaken by the Taiwanese - those short term projects that are beneficial to a selected few but not the whole population.

Anonymous said...

You mean we punished them for sins they have never asked forgiveness for and suddenly we St Lucians are going to put them there again. As the LPM have said it's the same leader and the same old faces. What you expect people to think when you still have Leo cashing, Tom Wattcot, Emma Hypocrite, Menissa Ramdaddy waiting for a job, misfits like Stanley Felix, Phd airheads like UB Rassmoss and the list goes on...including the invisible ones behind the red curtain waiting to rape the country.

Anonymous said...

I am continuing...SLP should not be the ones talking about how bad our government is.

Anonymous said...

... and Micah will never be a fair reporter. I refuse to call him a Journalist because he is not academically qualified for the position. He is not making any attempts to be objective in his articles. I shall soon relate his particular problem or obsession!

Anonymous said...

it very simple, "you all can bray as much as you all want, but NOTHING will prevent the SLP from returning to office to continue developing the country where they left off." We do not deserve an unproductive government, which has nothing to show in almost a full term, some of them including the PM, are not qualified to get any other job. All the people you name above at least are very qualified, they prepared themselves to serve and to make a contribution to their country, they are St Lucians, so there is nothing wrong in them getting a job in the country of their birth. Compton was neither born nor buried in St Lucia, the same could be said about his deputy Mallet, yet we embraced with open arms. UWP gave Hepples a job with a record tax free salary etc. But you are talking about qualified St Lucians waiting for jobs in their country, what is wrong with that?. Stop being a bias hypocrite.

Anonymous said...

You will not call Micah a journalist because he is not qualified for the position, i agree. But how would you call King, Mark Curse, Guy Joseph, Ass Tar Fan, Guy May Yours, Ass In James, Spida, Mon Day Zode, Pit Bull, Tucker etc, because of them are qualified for their positions. They are only square pegs in round holes.

Anonymous said...

Wait till Micah penn an article against the the SLP and all hell is going to break loose. For now he is a great fella because he writes with a slant in fabour of the SLP. All of that is going to change.

By the way, how are you so sure that SLP can win an election? How are you so sure that the other parties don't have a plan to deny SLP a victory. Stay there and bray..

Anonymous said...

UWP does not deserve a second term but the thought of people like Leo Clarke, Alva Baptiste, Tom Walcott, Henry Charles Menissa Rambally and Co coming back scares the shit out of me. Guess I'll have to vote for LPM.

Anonymous said...

I agree with your comemnt. Everywhere you go around the country this is what is on the minds of a lot of people. The thought of these very same people coming back to power is a very scary thought. It's even more scary to think that if they should be given a chance again they are going to beat over like a drum over our heads. I bad taste of SLP in our mouth is still there. OMG. Put a hand.

Anonymous said...

I heard the Talibans already set aside 50 cows and nuff rum to celebrate their return to office. I hear they telling everyone that they don't have to campaign because they win the next elections already. Is that so?

Anonymous said...

Yes you are very correct all hell will break loose if people just say things about the SLP without providing the facts and giving the right reasons for their statements. Because we all know the amount of work and development SLP did in St Lucia in 9 years. It is a fact they were not perfect, but tell me who are? For example when one could say they are afraid of Menissa, Alva Clarke, Tom Walcot, Leo Clarke. Henry Charles etc, and they cannot provide any reason for being afraid, then all hell will break loose, because it was these people who helped our the SLP in providing each of our children a school place today, to have proper international sporting grounds to play on, to have proper hospitals to care for our sick today, proper prison, police stations, fire stations, health centers, proper highways, car park, many hotels etc, etc, etc. So that our people could find proper places to work, not the Pig Pens the UWP left for us.

Anonymous said...

Ahem! Are we returning back to 1979? This statement sounds like treats Gaddafi's son have been making lately. Should St Lucians prepare for a violent elections as is the tone of this last post?

Anonymous said...

Yes you are correct again, our violence will be demonstrated with a rage iIn THE BALLOT BOX. on election day, to remove that burden called the UWP on our backs. Let us not talk bout 1979 because the men who caused the violence of 1979 like Compton and Odlum are dead now.

Anonymous said...

If my memory serves me right you'll are burying the last one today. He was a man who stood with Odlum prior to the election of 1979to freighten the heck out of St Lucians. Isn't that so? And for your information Kenny is not the only one who can raise hell and rage. Tell him the rest of us intend to to the same against him.

Anonymous said...

You mean Korrupshun and Hoodlum

Anonymous said...

don't worry..you will soon find out.

Anonymous said...

Kenny has no reason to raise hell and rage, the man is making $15000 a month as leader of the opposition, plus he is making more in his law office, his wife is a lecturer at UWI, he has already secured a pension, he has his big home, he received a PM salary for 9 years etc, etc. It is the poor people who will raise hell and rage in the ballot box. They do not deserve a non performing, corrupt, scandalous government.

Anonymous said...

Tell them that, above, it is people like you and I, and perhaps the above too (unless he is one of the elite, but I rather suspect not) who will raise hell to do away with the likes of:

Keith Mondeisir
Rufus Bosquet
"That one" the worse of the lot, makes me vomit to say his name
Guy Mayers and Joseph
Allan Chastanet

If you ask me, all the above have a story to tell; and its not a pretty story, especially "that one", Modeisir, the ex con and the liar Chastanet.

Anonymous said...

I wander some people are pretending to be blind of what is going on in St Lucia, as you and i sees it.

Anonymous said...

If Kenny is such a rich guy why don't he step aside with his Trini wife and leave St Lucians alone. Who cares how much he is making. Richard Frederick has and is making much more than Kenny can dream of and yet he is down to earth --like him or hate him. You can take your kenny and go out to pasture with him.

Anonymous said...

At least Kenny's money, no matter how little as you put it, (I guess YOU are making much more than that!!!) is coming decent hard work.

That sadly, cannot be said of your of your don. His monies are NOT decent...much blood is spilled over it, and much zombies are on the streets of Castries as a result of his ill gotten riches.

Anonymous said...

You have the heart to mention frederick as your role model? A dishonest man who stole our taxes by under invoicing, a man who hijack businesses in the City for his friends and his personal gains, a man who promised to work for free and give his salary to the people, but instead take his government to court for our very tax dollars. etc, etc.

How can Kenny step aside when he is an elected member of the house on his third term, and he will be re elected again and will be the PM of St Lucia when election is called?

Hail to Kenny ...

Anonymous said...

you can say that again because Kenny is the best we ever had or have so far.

Anonymous said...

Amen to that. I am glad you confessed and gave to Kenny his dues. Late, but you see the truth anyway.

Of course you meant your diatribe on Kenny to be mean spirited. but deep down you know it is the truth.

YES, KENNY IS INDEED PM OF PM's

Your King is not fit to even come close to Kenny's foot steps, let alone walk on them. Go figure!!

Sacre deban sans honte!!

SLP little ducks are so confused!

Anonymous said...

Say what you want, your prerogative. I would rather be a confused little duck with the likes of Kenny, than be enlightened with your kinds - ex con, don, convicted criminal, tax evaders, liar, seller of his patient's medical records...so, I say to you, leave me in my confusion, and stay with your likes, as mentioned.

Anonymous said...

His Trini wife burning your arse. Ask your KING about the house he promised to build in Canonoun. I pity Some of you because you all seeing with your eyes WIDE SHUT.

Anonymous said...

Corruption in Government is as perennial as the grass. It's a cycle that cannot be stopped no matter what promises are made. Think about it. SLP came to power in 1997 accusing UWP of corruption and promising clean Government, but by 2006, SLP was booted out by UWP which also promised honest government. Now SLP is set to return on the clear evidence of corruption in the UWP. And we can be sure that when SLP is kicked out again, it will be because of corruption. Anyone who thinks things will change if and when SLP returns needs to go see a shrink. Contracts will still go to one set of undeserving contractors, the Tenders Board will still be bypassed when convenient, people who didn't work in STEP will get paid, family members and unqualified party hacks will return to the foreign service; the integrity commission will still be ignored.

Anonymous said...

well said to the "perrenial grass" blogger above. I hope this time around SLP will prove us wrong and break that cycle.
