I have to laugh at this letter!! The writer must be smoking weed all day if he does not see the waste and corruption which is steering us in the face since the death/murder of Sir John. The roads are not being fixed after TOMAS because the contracts are too small for the ministers to get their kick-backs from the contractors. This has to be the most corrupt and dishonest government in our history.

A hired hand of the mind bending machine.

Keep the pressure up on the SLP. Those hypocrites must not be allowed to get away with double standards.

Johnny Boy, the choice is clear.....SLP will form the next Government of Saint Lucia. Do you want me to repeat myself in another language; OK....*#$&*!@$%*@#%?&%^* period; and you can take that to the bank!!!

Anonymous said...

Vote for change...vote LPM.

Anonymous said...

100% behind this last statement. If St Lucians really want change then SLP is not the answer. Try LPM or another party.

Tout to boushea flambeau passa passea!!! John Pascal are you in the govement employ? Poor you your job is threatened so you singing for your supper pal well this is the end of the rope for you and the band of robbers in parliament!!!! LABOUR ALL DE WAY!!!!

I don't think that LPM is going to stand around and encourage St Lucians to replace their country with SLP. If that happen they need to have their heads examine. You can't reply one Ali Baba and forget how dangerous the 40 thieves on the other side was and is.

Anonymous said...

Up to now, I don't see that St. Lucians have the courage to do anything differently. They will either kill for SLP or kill for UWP. Stand on their own two feet and move beyond rum and chicken? Not yet.

True the LPM is the only party without skeletons in their closets. Will St. Lucians grow up and stand up as a people who understand what true independence means by taking charge of your own future? I don't think so. We have too many party hacks and too few people who can think for their own selves ... without the likes of the Three Dumb Stooges, Kar-Askoo, Juuke Bwar, and Team Polayyun

Anonymous said...

SLP is NOT grappling under any straw, it is the poor people of St Lucia who are grappling under that UWP who call themselves government. SLP has nothing to worry about because they WILL WIN the next election.

Anonymous said...

As long as you keep talking about winning an election that has not yet been called is the more I am starting to believe that your party is going to loose!

Plain and simple......these kinds of pulling eggs from fowl backside behavior is typical of SLP....and they still does loose.

The only party in St Lucia that knows how to loose tons of elections is the SLP.

Anonymous said...

All those who are in denial here and insists that UWP will win the next elections I sympathise and emphasise with you guys. Insanity has taken over and some people are actually leaving in fear of the UWP being wiped into oblivion. LPM has not been tested and our country has a history of not embracing a third party NO MATTER WHO IT IS!!!. Lpm has a bunch of non-credible guys who are angry at their party the UWP so now believe that they can unleash their venom on Saint Lucians. Well their friends will vote for them and we will expect that. Elections are won at the POLLS and by the BALLOT!!!

Anonymous said...

SLP thought they would win the 2006election too. And they got tons of ti croix in their backside. One suspect poll by the Voice and they think they have the election in the bag. But they should know they can't win the elctions if they can't win the Castries basin. The question is can King, Joseph and Frederick be beaten? Not a pecko!

Anonymous said...

It is not about who wins or who will lose. All I know is that the very Bousquet that this writer tries to launder to the public is a scourge on the government. The jury is in on Bousquet and all he is doing right now is blowing hot air. As for winning elections, the choice for St. Lucia is clear ... if SLP was perfect then they would have been governing in heaven, but when we compare SLP and UWP even there is no match. Stephenson King is as inarticulate as he is inccompetent. He described in the house Sir Allan Louisy as "Lucid, Focussed, and he was doing that on a good day. The young people of St. Lucia deserve better than this government. And what LPM, Terrol and his food stamp friends should give it up. The Staff Party has had a better showing than they could ever have. Terrol only wants to serve St. Lucia if he can be its PM?

I can see how SLP could have felt it should win the 2006 elections. A new prison to replace the inhumanity downtown that made all St. Lucia's look like babarians to have tolerated that unholy mess for so long. Removal of the shift system, a Labour Code to ban the split shift in the hotels, a state of the Art mental hospital, and a new general hospital to have followed. Two stadia, on in the north and one in the South, a mega highway in the South, the only to survive Hurricane Tomas, a long list of police stations and fire stations to treat police and firemen with the respect and dignity they deserved, a money laundering act to deal with some well known criminals we all know about, constitutional reform, highway in the north the only forward thinking intervention to address growing traffic in the north, Universal Secondary School Education, Universal Health Care, bringing up the tax treshold to allow the lowest paid to take more of their pay home, grant funding under the EDF, OPSR, Bellfund, PRF, the Proud Programme which gave title to land to the landless, don't talk about the liberalization of the telecommunications sector, how about the relative freedom for tim and jukebois to say what they want about the SLP on the radio and etc, etc, etc. The SLP may have lost but the biggest loser is Saint Lucia. At least we now have something to compare and we need no Bibical prophecy to tell us what is clear as day. We don't need an Apocalypse to reveal the evil of the UWP. It is there for all to see

Most of the fellas I saw on a plateform in Micoud South were once supporter of the SLP. I'm i missing something here? Is the SLP in denial about the potential damage the LPM is bound to cause them?

If St. Lucians were a more honest people, the LPM would most likely be the party with the greatest amount of seats in the next election. But St. Lucians like boreball too much.

Anonymous said...

Don't worry, the people of St Lucia have a plan. It's the best plan ever,

Ever heard about Kenny Let Down? Well his hacks can expect this on elections day.

I am amazed that The Voice, in 2011can print that GOBBLEDY-GOOK!!! This is BY FAR the worst piece of opinion and garbage I've read in a LONG, LONG time. Even my 'ole mate Garnet Gordon, God rest his soul, would not have printed that CRAP in his paper. Clearly that little UWP puppet and Voice Editor, Victor Marquis, is allowing the paper to slide into stupidity. The opinion has ABSOLUTELY NO SUBSTANCE. It's like the writing of a child in kindergarten. And on the LPM matter, I don't know why people even talk about the LPM. Why don't we ask the LPM boss, Prudent, that angry UWP, if he would have formed the LPM, if Stephenson King had given him the post of UN Ambassador in New York that he wanted so much. My people, are you blind? Linda.

St. Lucians do not know how to reason like a mature NATION. OK, the nation part is woefully exaggerated. National anthems, a flag and a holiday do not make a nation. Compton got those in the process with a hand-me-down constitution. We celebrate a falsehood each year. Only the very young can be fooled into believing that it is all real.

OK. We want to behave like a mature people? Well we would not be doing the same stupid thing we did when we put only one 'boy on the burning deck' to bring balance to the coronation of King Kenny Anthony. Only an immature electorate would work to place a single person in opposition in our part of the world.

Already, the SLP is showing that without the same stale ideas they had under Kenny, they have absolutely nothing else to offer ... than to do better than the UWP. Is this good enough for a mature electorate? I really do not think that this is right. But we have lived with this already.

With two large majorities and without a real programme, Kenny became a god for the SLP. The operations of the thugs in the current UWP government, just made this all the more convincing.

The fact remains that in a largely two party system, without a reasonably good opposition ... by the way Kenny is neither good, nor effective ... serious errors will be made and will be excused like ROCHAMEL and NCA. Everybody want the independent thinking people besides the UWP to forget those. $45 million was lost.

With years in opposition, and in all his wisdom, Kenny has never even given a glimpse at what measures he would put in place to prevent a repetition of such financial disasters. That is the GLARING and haunting weakness of the SLP. But that is only for those who know about having good government in country where most people are not dumb.

Anonymous said...

May saye we are tired of hearing the same thing over and over again, for a decade now Kenny committed a crime with ROCHAMEL and NCA, that is stale news which worked in the past and will NEVER work again. These UWPees are running afraid, so they want to scare people again saying does not deserve to return to office, because of these mistakes. They want us to forget all the good he did for St Lucia. Could we imagine how St Lucia would have been today or the mess we would have been in today, we would have been the laughing stock of the caribbean if Kenny and the SLP did not have that 9 years stint in office? People it is useless that campaign against Kenny because that will NOT WORK. People have seen for themselves who is better to lead the country.

Some people tend to bring up the LPM as if there is a single perfect political in this world. All political parties will make mistakes, if you know one that does not make mistakes, please name it for me? You said SLP has no real program, please go to, "stlucialabourparty.com" and read for yourself.

You see it as news. Many see it as gross incapacity to manage money. Mr. Anthony has no sense of value and how to manage money. Even his constituents had to buy him some wheels. Try getting him to wash his hands clean of this one. While he is at it, let us try to ignore the bribe, and his acceptance of bribery as part of his nature and squeaky-clean personality.

I read the sketches on the sight. Man, they even look like well typed notes of a first year university student. Those sketches require a plan. Only the stupid or the uneducated can ever view these as a plan to solve our very basic problems. Looks like a rewording of what has been said before. Like the professor said, 'old wine in new skins'.

You SLP guys telling lies. Kenny already say, that only when he gets in, will he know what to do. Papishow politics this time again. We got belly dancing, we got calypso and now this? May ceay me margeeeeeee!!!

Anonymous said...

Nobody should reply to the nonsense of the above two trash, let them write that will bring them nowhere. Kenny WILL RETURN to continue developing our country. Some of these people deserve a (........) like the thing we have governing St Lucia today.

Anonymous said...

NCA and Rochamel and the Soufriere can never be stale news...not when taxpayers still paying through their teeth for these bobos and not when Kenny says he will do Rochamel all over again.

Anonymous said...

$45 MILLION DOLLARS ain't 45 cents, nor $45, nor $450, nor $4,500.00, nor $45,000.00, nor $450,000.00, nor $4,500,000.00. It is 45 with six zeros behind it. Dat is a lot of money to waste or to pay somebody to waste and forget about it. That is the gross INCOMPETENCE!

Anonymous said...

Keep repeating the past, i want to see how far you will reach. What happen the past cannot be changed, so what about talking about what is happening presently in St Lucia. We have a government who have BORROWED much more than $45 million and they have wasted it with NOTHING to show for it. You can say all you want about the Soufriere highway it is the BEST constructed highway ever constructed in the island. Nothing happened to it after Tomas. Go the point and you will see what came out of Rochamel, St lucians are employed there.

How is Prudent angry? Do you really know him? I don't think this man has a ounce of angry inside of him.

Anonymous said...

Who ever said your Prudent is angry, if he is not angry now, he will be after him and all his men lost their deposit. If SLP will not win the election, then who will win? UWP cannot win, LPM will never win, So who will win? Do not feel sorry for the SLP, because all the candidates are either gainfully employed, have their own business, left a very good job or are very qualified to demand any good job they want.

The ones who have or will continue to have red tears in their eyes are the poor employed people of St Lucia. The politicians will never suffer, stop concerning about Kenny, he is a rich man.

Anonymous said...

Because they have a base and jobs they can do overseas, LPM people are also or even more skilled than some of the SLP candidates. Rumshop, chicken and rum politics gets you to look for deposits. You are such a political pigmy. That is a small amount to sacrifice for a better St. Lucia. I am sure that members can give the candidates that amount, if that was necessary.

What is most important to St. Lucia, I believe is whether St. Lucia is going to take on another lopsided SLP government that does not know how to solve the country's problems again. People do not eat stadiums. That is more or less entertainment centres to fool the masses. They want well-paying jobs instead.

They want a comfortable life like developed country people. They want meaningful work and not menial jobs like cooks and bottle washers, maids, bell hops, security guards, and gardeners. That is why Kenny is a leader without foresight or person with a deep meaning to life. That is why he can not see past the creation of the ghettos his policies gave us. He has no ideas to do any better. The SLP leadership has nothing new to offer either. It is either Kenny or nothing.

Up to now, all Kenny Anthony's free secondary education has plans for is to produce more of the menial above. You are to dumb and blind to see that. The rest of St. Lucia love too much borebaall and dishonesty to do better.

The youth do not want those types of jobs. There is more money with drugs. That is a surer way to get money. That is why Kenny and the SLP are irrelevant to St. Lucia's problems. Labour is so very much out of touch. That is why Kenny is wrong for our very young population and wrong for St. Lucia. SLP is an entertainment party full of papishow politics.

This was one of the most incomprehensible articles I have ever read.
Such an article or was it editorial should never be printed in a so called serious newspaper.
As to some of the comments, whatever your political persuasion it is obvious that the current administration have not performed to the required standard of governance.

Cas En Bas said...

You want to compare some of your lapoo candidates with those in the LPM, go ahead. Therold stands taller than a lot of the the personal failures within the SLP. This is not a guy who is struggling to make ends meet. You can talk allyour sh.t to people who don't know Therold but the truth must surface to the top eventually. Therold is more qualify than a lot of the fools in the SLP. He is a guy who can wrap and bury a lot of the junkies in the SLP any day any time. I I challenge anyone to prove that he is hungry, angry or not qualified.

Anonymous said...

Truth must be told. If you feel that you can make a real difference, you must be ready to take on the challenge. In business and in a competitive situation like sports, you must be 'hungry' and have a great desire to win. But being power hungry like Kenny is, is quite another thing.

I believe and you will get this from their meetings so far, that the people in the LPM are more interested in achievement than in power. Of course you need the power to get to make the needed changes in order to bring out the achievement. Therefore, let's be fair and logical for once.

Cas En-Bas said...

True that. I am tired of hearing those sick people belittle those who are not from their party when in truth a lot of these people are better off than the people they trying to promote. I am one of those who voted for SLP for years and was ignroed. As long as Kenny keep insulting us with candidates who don't give two sh.t about us I rather go with a person I know for years and went to school with as a child. I am voting for my interest and the interest of my community not the interest of someone elese. I don't want to know that after elections i gave my vote to someone who won't remember my name.
