When Solomon was visited by the Angels Haaruut and Maaruut, the people learned magic from these angels. Of the magic learned were how to cause separation between husband and wife. So we were taught: Satan erects his throne upon the water and dispatches emissaries among the people. The person highest in rank is the one who has created the worse scandals. A devil would return saying, “I kept inciting so-and-so until he said these horrific statements”. Iblis/Satan says, “I (swear) By Allah, you have not done much.” Another devil would say, “I kept inciting so-and-so until I separated him and his wife.” Iblis/ Satan would embrace him and say, “you have done well”.

You must be an emissary of Iblis - “If someone dreams that he is bitten by a spider”, his wife is committing adultery? You must be a devil in human form to propagate such “magee noir”.
