A Quack doctor! He'll get another countryman here to represent him in court. A long drawn-out court process awaits us then he will be released on a legal technicality. I live in the USAQ and 17 years ago I applied for a job in St. Lucia. Came home for the interview and the first question out of the guy's mouth was, Who is your family?" Needless to say I am still in the USA. Ten weeks ago I applied for another job back home. Then I get an email asking me to supply notarized copies of all my certifications and degree if I want to be considered for the position. YET WE HAVE THESE GUYS COME AND PULL SUCH SCAM, EVEN HAD A NIGERIAN REP HON COMTON WHO NEVER WAS A LAWYER. St Lucia need to start treating looshans better and treat these scam artist as what they are.

Blogger at 6:14: Similar experience to yours. Applied to a job back home which I am qualified for. Had an interview, but didn't hear anything. Whenever I called, I was told they had not made a decision. A friend at home eventually let me know that the position had been filled. They didn't even have the courtesy to let me know they had chosen someone else. Not surprised this man can practice medicine for such a long time in St. Lucia without the necessary qualifications. We're just not ready yet. We spend our efforts on trivial things in an attempt to look busy, while nothing gets done.

This incident reminds me of when I was at school, we had a Canadian teacher: "Mrs S..." Only to find out later that she was a runaway teen (from Canada), and the man whom she came to St Lucia with (her "husband") was her "abductor" and was wanted in Canada for statutory rape and abduction of a minor! Of course, when he was trailed to St Lucia - he skipped the island, and left the poor girl high and dry.
This "doctor's" story is just one of many, and sadly, there will be more ... This kind of "face-lock" HAS TO BE eradicated from our shores!!
St Lucians' at home, and abroad, all come under such intense scrutiny for employment, higher learning, personal affairs (birth, baptism, marriage, passports, etc), and the list goes on.
