Prudent urges government to reconsider cost of Bonne Terre Bridge

Ask Mr. Prudent whether or not his caution is fact-based on costings emerging out of an alternate study, or on transportation economics and economic development.

If not, shut up! Stop the idle posturing!

If you think you have the power make him shut up-go head.

Just because PIP throw a few figures here and there does not mean he is correct.

Your arrogance and that of the SLP is showing. It’s not in Prudent’s place to fix the numbers for the government. Do your job.

You sound like your are staggering out of a rumshop or just like Jouck Buwah.

If you have a different view and you are talking about numbers and if you do not have numbers to counter what is being put forward, you are either dumb, or fatally lack any understanding about how rational people should make decisions.

You seem to forget that we have two universities on the island.

Where is the logic in what Prudent said using better numbers? It is absolutely baseless when you don't have numbers of your own to prove your case.

You missed that? The days of hot air are over. The dummy PM that Compton left, is out! Out! Out! Out! Give us a freaking break!

Prudent's way is the jackass way! Are you hoping that all Saint Lucians are, or will remain jackasses?

Man let Prud bray.

I agree. That is plain foolishness LPM is writing there. How can you talk about cost and have no idea of a lesser costing alternative. Mate must be drunk, I suppose. That is opposing for opposing sake. Old-fashioned politics getting into your way of you making sense my boy? Choops!

Anonymous said...

I agree with Mr. Prudent. This is a total waste of funds. Why don't some of you who are writing junk think for a moment. Your politics is blinding you.

Anonymous said...

How can it be a total waste of funds? It is an investment in infrastructure. It is not consumption spending like STEP.

It does not continuously create a negative impact on foreign exchange earnings and has a multiplier effect in terms of the growth of the Gross Domestic Product through employment.

Mr. Prudent does not understand the issues other than to try to make an insert in domestic politics, and to gain short-lived attention with rumshop oratory from behind his computer in New York.

Doh waste time with dat man. He can win a seat in Saint Lucia even if his life depended on it.

Anonymous said...

Mr.Prudent, alternatives must be factually oriented; otherwise, you're simply jawboning the issue!.

This is precisely the point my friends. Where are Mr. Prudent's statistics to back up his statements? The time is quickly coming to an end, when a man could just stand up with a microphone on the Market Steps, or on the William Peter Boulevard, or in Gros Islet, and just BRAY like a donkey, then win a seat in St. Lucia. Mr. Prudent has to do his research and provide the following facts, if he wants to talk to a qualified Economist and consultant like Minister Pierre, and the Engineers of the Ministry of Works on such a serious matter as the proposed construction of a new bridge: 1 The age of the existing bridge; 2 Government Engineer's estimates, and second opinions and figures concerning the structural integrity of the existing bridge; 3 The present load carrying capacity of the existing bridge, taking into account the density of relevant traffic flow when it was constructed and the present rates of relevant traffic flow: 4 Future estimated rates of relevant traffic density over the bridge, and the estimated number of years of useful life of a newly constructed bridge; 5 Engineers estimates of alternative bridge construction materials, and the most optimum choice of materials, given atmospheric, geological and other relevant environmental conditions, that will impact the new bridge proposed for construction; 6 The utility of the newly proposed bridge given future plans for road construction in the area of Bonne Terre; 7 etc., etc., etc. Mr. Prudent has to STOP disrespecting St. Lucians with his empty BRAYING from New York, and provide facts and figures when he opens his mouth. Mr. Prudent has a responsibility to challenge Minister Pierre to show the relevant scientific documents to the public, instead of just running off his mouth all the way from New York. The Minister would then have a duty to respond in the proper manner, sharing with Prudent a copy of the documentation that would have been prepared to justify the reconstruction of a bridge at Bonne Terre. Nobody just gets up from his/her bed one morning and just takes government's money and just builds a new bridge, and Mr. Prudent should know that. Gone are the days when he grew up in Gros Islet under the magic touch of his mentor John Compton. Even John Compton used to back up his serious statements with facts and fugures. Please take note Mr. Therold Prudent. STOP the empty braying and bluffing. You are only making a fool of yourself and Lucians will just continue to laugh at you. Stop being a laughing stock, man! It will take you nowhere in the new St. Lucia that is slowly but surely taking shape during the last two or three decades. JOJOMAN.

Well said. Could not have said it any better.

That man, whoever he is and wherever he is, is just going the way of old-stlye 1950's Bousquet politics. Get up and shoot hot air. Only simpletons do that kind of thing.

Is he just searching for attention?

Anonymous said...

Prudent is on Target and I am happy to see him show guts. Good for him.Talk about simpletons?? Wait for it: Check yourselves.

Only jackasses will make an issue about a man asking a government to shop around for the best price to build a bridge. You all attacking but don't even know what you are attacking. It's alright for SLP to spend 56 million on a bridge without check and balance?? Sacway sort.

I bet you the person building the bridge or whom the contract was awarded too is a SLP loyalist. Jobs for the boys. St Lucians aren't moo moos.

It is time to put a halt on these truckloads of nonsense like what Prudent wrote up there and what the UWP has so mindlessly and child-likely been carrying around.

Get serious!

Just don't shoot from the hip. Bring out the data to support your positions. Give us some notion of intelligence behind your comments.

We cannot be caught doing the same old crap time and time again and expect that the general public is going to applaud. Only compete idiots do that, as they look nervously and sheepishly around to see who is clapping too.

The days of buffoons, and for buffoonery in our domestic politics are over and done with! Jokers beware!

Anonymous said...

PIP is joker for making the government agree to the first and only estimate he got for building bridge.

You have asked Mr. Prudent to provide some data in support of his claim. What hogwash. Where was Kenny's data when he was opposing the Hewannorra project and other projects under the UWP. Did Kenny ever present any numbers in support of his rantings?

The angry missives by the SLP are all over the internet. Hot air and baseless.

Here's some wisdom for the not so wise from Luke: 6 42

Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Take the mot out of your eyes before you start to whip the gentleman.

........-
If we are to succeed as a people, our only choice is to embrace an alternative path that seeks to capture and harmonize our diverse views and uniqueness as a nation. To succeed, we must find a way to unleash creativity and innovation, the missing links that will produce the kind of economic dynamism that is so badly needed in Saint Lucia.

Anonymous said...

Will you ignorant people stop that crap?

Two wrongs don't ever make a right, you know!

It is rumshop talk to repeat the schoolboy argument that because Kenny did not provide or did not produce data some time ago, we have no legitimate right or reason to ask others to do so now!

When the hell will we stop talking crap and get serious?

Data are needed to make any worthwhile claim to making any real sense regarding such a huge construction project.

Gut feeling is only a substitute for making decisions when you do not have key bits of data, and should not be used for shooting crap, especially when better can be done.

Writing a valid criticism is not the same thing as happy talk.

Like the man said the other day, just because you have an opinion, and this time it is entirely baseless, that does not necessarily mean that others have to darn well hear it.

Tell Prudent to try harder to hold his crap, and not spread it all over the darn newspaper.

Man! Some wouldbe politicians are just too stupid for my liking.

SLP's is out on the slumber. Tom Walcott has call for re reinforcement, but that will not help.

As an SLP i did not campaign for his daughter to get to be the consul general in Martinique, or for Tom to make more money in retirement and on the cricket ground deal. The cost of the bridge and the contract is a one man show - later will tell.

Kenny and Pip look tired, confused and frustrated, while hanging on to Communism straws - China doesn't need St.Lucia.

Prudent is a product of the UWP. Anything goes!

Bs-ing is the politics of the past. Mr. Prudent should give us something different. Change the tune. Change the tone of the debates. Comptonism and what he taought you is dead and buried with him. Move forward with the times!

Anonymous said...

We don't need anything different we like it so. Hard Labour.

Bs-ing can catch up with them. Note what is happening States-side with the Republicans. They have a Robber Baron for a candidate and all he can do is to flub and flip-flop. This man's God, like the Morman God is MONEY.

Prudent stop bs-ing! Give us good reason when you write next time, to be persuaded that you have seen the light and have stopped talking your usual Compton-style and Jook Bwa-style bs!
