Did I miss something? Was there a falling out that I'm not aware of? Ten years ago the CBA rep could have been mistaken for a policymaker. He sat on several boards, including NIC and ECFH. His expertise was well respected back then. What happened?

What does the Law relating to the Grynberg Oil Exploration matter say.

Who can approve? The Governor General or the Prime Minister.

Kenny must be made to account in Parliament to us the people of St. Lucia. And he had better do this sooner rather than later.

If Grynberg had done his homework or due diligence, he would have known that the agreement would NOT hold up in a domestic or regional appellate court or even the Privy Council, as the final arbiter or law court. But this is not case.

This is especially so because the case will not have any likelihood of being litigated in any of these courts.

Now that we have willfully (but without full knowledge of the implications, as is the custom for our ministers in government) handed over part of our national sovereignty to an external body, namely, the WTO or the World Trade Organization, the situation is not at all clear.

An interesting question is, whether or not, the WTO can override domestic legislation? Are there clauses in that Agreement which have the force of bypassing local legislation, which has the force or legal backing of our constitution?

Remember that the supreme law of land, documented in our constitution indicates that the GG and NOT the PM is the one who signs off on such agreements thereby making them LEGAL.

In other words, the Grynberg Agreement in Saint Lucia is illegal.

The PM, even as a constitutional lawyer went way beyond his remit. His legal authority.

Beyond being extremely awkward, the legal implications and legal ramifications are several. A very interesting development to say the least.
