“Do Your Job!”

This seminar which has been conducted; clearly suggests that there is great hope for St. Lucia.

I was just about giving up on St. Lucia; but thank GOD Clinton Reynolds has been one of our younger journalist that has tried to conduct himself professionally and exemplary.

The matter of Timothy Poleon; was a sad day for St. Lucia.Government officials fly in the face of accountability; good governance; integrity and transparency in Government when they believe that they; wittingly or unwittingly; attempt to smother the press from reporting matters of national interest to the people who pays them to be in government and to govern.

If I were in Poleon's place; I would have counter-sued those who attempted to file law suits. And let the Courts of Law rule. In fact; I would have gone all the way to the Privy Council; there are enough lawyers in Britain who would have liked to take on such a case.

It is heartening to see that the President of the Media Association recognizes that many of its members need much training and technical knowledge of the work they undertake.

The more training and know-how the better. The choice of Rick Wayne and Hinkson were on the button.

The reporters and journalists must also recognize that as a matter of necessity; they must familarize themselves with the issues being in the public view from time to time; and in particular; about the entire operations of government.
I wish them well.

When reporting NEWS bring the NEWS and keep the SOAPS out.
St.Lucia news are represented as
soaps style and sensational, why not only bring the facts on TV? Do you have to bring all this "eye witnesses" on tv?

Unless we in St. Lucia learn to do whatever we do "professionally" we will be nowhere.

If you are a shoe-shine boy; be the best shoe-shiner there ever was or is.

Everywhere in the democratic world, it takes the rule of law to get the wrongs right. It is about time we get used to the practice, hence we become unruly. No man is an island. I guarantee you that Timothy will improve in journalism if he got the message.

Timothy Poleon DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG.

He read an article PUBLISHED ON THE INTERNET; relating to a matter regarding St. Lucia.

All St. Lucians were interested in reading/knowing/hearing about this article.

Phillip La Corbiniere; thought that as a senior Public Official; that is to say as a nominated POLITICIAN to Public Office; he was somehow IMMUNE from Public DISCOURSE.

I believe this WHOLE MATTER REGARDING RICHARD FREDERICK; the former Comptroller of Customs Terrence Lennard; former Attorney General and political rival for the castries central seat; PHILLIP LA CORBINIERE should be INDEPENDENTLY INVESTIGATED by International Human Rights Commission; so we in St. Lucia can know the TRUTH; and NOTHING but the TRUTH; and see who is the real ROGUE/S and who if any are ANGELS.

Snouts can say anything. But the action is what determines truth from lies.

By issuing the apology Timothy showed a lack of courage. Many won't take him seriously after this. There is no way he would have lost this case based on the facts.
