I've been banging on about the mosquito breeding programme for ages on here. Nice that someone noticed.
They are not injected, they are bred to not be able to pass on the dengue. It was an Australian scientist who came up with it first and is now trialling it in Brazil.
You need to start a programme of spraying in built up areas, and to try and put bleach in pools of stagnant water to kill the larvae. Spray doesn't work on them.
I fully agree with you that more precautions and action need to be taken in order to prevent or at least reduce the spread of the Chikungunya and Dengue virus. Why on earth aren't the ports observed and controlled? Brazil however, is on the right track. Respect.
