Will King be there to implement the VAT? Why April 2012? Is this constitutional?

It looks like the next election will be a referendum on implementation of the VAT because SLP is against it, we. We don't even know for sure what LPM and NDM might thinking about VAT.

The more King talks about VAT the less happy Looshans are that he of all persons is going to bring it into this country. If the budget is any guide as to what to expect, then we are not in safe hands with this you know.

Date for implementation of VAT is tactical. King will call General Elections before April 2012. All preparation would be in place for VAT by then. The party that wins will be forced to implement. I see UWP as the winner.

Wake up lucians, how can he prevent the vat ,from unduly affecting the, poor, when they ,will be the ones to bear the brunt of the impact, moreover, if it is not a new tax why implement it to begin with?

That's confidence or is it just a ploy to fool the masses. UWP knows that it chances of winning the next general elections so he will try to stick an unorganized VAT on the SLP. In the long run VAT is a good median and would help the economy. But th first two years of it's implementaion is pure hell. For one prices of good will increase two fold. Is our struggling economy ready for that shock...
