Why commuters are taking a back seat

if a builder have to carry all his blocks in his small pick up he will have to make xy amount of trips to do that and he will put himself out of competition, because the cost of transport is to high.
Therefore he will look to transport his blocks all in ones in a biger truck to save on this transportation cost.
Now my question to the minibus sector:
Why do they not try to save money on gas by driving more passengers at same time? I dont see the need of increasing the fair, its to adjust the minibus operaters to the competition, but there is none.

"... all recommending that government overhauls this sector and assumes a more active role in the future of this sector..."

I am in TOTAL agreement with this article!! The minibus drivers/associations seem to have the upper hand of this business. While their attitude towards commuters, and other "licensed" drivers, are rather poor!!

St Lucia's commuter transport system should be government owned ... more $$ in the government kitty!! AND... they should even incorporate sea transport - more $$$!!!

I totally agree with this article Abetta Country. As a matter of fact there will never be enough money to fix all the wrongs in this sector so money, money money cannot be the answers because money is finite in our economic crisis period especially.Another approach must be taken which is more logical than what is going on now.
