Memories of "Pan" rehearsals wafting excitedly from somewhere between the old Conway enclave and the bus depot behind Castries Market- but not past the Gardens.
As I lingered awhile longer contemplating my "Everest" ascent of the Darling Rd slope;
I am enthralled by the repetitions of the pan men (it was all guys -back in the day) getting closer and closer to nailing the main melody.
Somehow the urgency of these rehearsal fortified my resolve to head on home - beyond the steep Darling Hill.

Is Mr Arnold related to the mid 1960's Headmaster of RC Boys School near the Cathedral-
respectfully called "Red Head"?
There is quite a resemblance.
