Put Out This Fire!

The Boeing 777 has been in the news of late -for all the wrong reasons.

However, I wish to point out a new industrial Psy model utilized in its pre production plans:

Boeing solicited reps from all areas of the workforce that would work on the day to day operations of the aircraft to be part of collaborative groups with engineers and management etc.

In other words a cabin stewardess could input data about the convenience & utility of overhead bins.

Maintenance mechanics inputeed their recommendations about tools , access points etc in improving service based on their experiences over time.....And on

Since the entire jet liner needed no clay models and other protype testings as in the past. theses inputs coluld be calibrated modified up to and during the production phases.

The point is that folks in the field were given stress free opportunities to be a part of the conversation on how to build a better craft

As you have asserted, the front line forces of of our most critical community services deserve swift attention and positive resolution. In some states governments take preemptive measures to forestall the current situation with SLFD by creating for example the Taylor Law that prohibits and exacts extremely severe criminal punishment (jail + fees upon similar striking unions.

Perhaps more creative stress free professional development retreats, workshops that address "sticky wicket" concerns , prior to them being bowled as "full tosses" at a war & smoke weary rank & file; then management /govt. interests/ mandates may percolate and be sipped more appreciably.

Oh hell; what a pitiful state this country has become.

Who is the Minister in Charge and who is the Permanent Secretary who administers? They both need to be retired from their positions in the PUBLIC INTEREST.
