Oh what a splendid testament to our majestic Helen of the West. Compliments to the photographer- my polarized goggles are fogging up from pushing back the emotive well springs around my eyelids.

Rembrandt takes a back seat today.

I peel off my Nomex gauntlets, to request a serious rethink of a funding of musical arts in primary /secondary schools via a secure charitable foundation with global outreach.

It would be momentous motivation for BOO and or the Governor-General to initiate said musical instruments fund.
Much respect.

With an island wide custom tailoring to the needs and limitations of Helen's current human & capital resources , modifications to the following framework will more than meet /exceed mission/vision goals:
Here is the posted copy of WRTI (Temple University jazz/classic public radio station and website:

{ Get Involved

Each year, Musicopia depends on the generosity of individual supporters to help us provide high quality music education outreach programs to school children and their communities throughout the greater Philadelphia region.

Your gift to the Annual Fund is 100% tax deductible and is put to work right away! With your support we can:

Collect, repair, and place donated instruments in schools with students who are eager to play, but cannot afford an instrument.
Provide assemblies, residencies, and workshops to thousands of students, where they will experience the joys of music and have the opportunity to interact with professional musicians;
Support the Musicopia String Orchestra, which provides out-of-school ensemble and performance opportunities to underserved students from diverse neighborhoods and backgrounds; and
Help re-build and revitalize music programs in underserved schools where music curriculum was previously unavailable;
By contributing to the Annual Fund, you are inspiring a child to learn through music, providing the pathway for their musical journey, and transforming his or her life and community through the power of music!

If a modified framework is stewarded by a musical stalwart as Mr. "BOO" Hinkson and has secure oversight sponsorship by an un biased government entity as in the office of the Governor -General-
and banks like Scotia come on board to create secure funds warehousing (financial)
and commercial or charitable organizations/ establishments with modern warehousing, air/sea/land freight handling capabilities & customs clearance alacrity-
pool their synergies to support St.Lucia's own Musical Instruments & learning Fund-

then it is highly likely that those who can (especially orgs & individuals in the diaspora shall come on board with their valuable experience, revitalized commitment to heritage and awaken to proclaim a new dawn, wherein they respond to the echo of the glorious refrain within the stanza "

{Son's and Daughters of St.Lucia
LOVE the land that gave you BIRTH ...}

Amen

Here is part of an article from a respected Philadelphia Newspaper that supports the musical instrument charitable fund initiative in tha metro area:

{ Philadelphia Tribune, The
01-13-2004
Budget cuts have drastically changed the direction of music in public
schools over the past several years. A dynamic partnership between the
Philadelphia Orchestra, Strings for Schools and the School District of
Philadelphia with nine other Philadelphia area organizations is helping to
trans-form a bleak situation to something that will become quite beneficial
to youngsters.

PNC Bank, Comcast Philadelphia and Comcast Delaware County, Settlement
Music School, Jacobs Music Company, WRTI-FM, WJJZ-FM, the Philadelphia
Music Alliance, Chichester School District, and Medley Music have joined
forces to develop this year-round program that will allow children to have
musical instruments when they would not otherwise have the opportunity.}

Purpose of sharing this article is to focus on the pooled synergies of the various orgs and establishments that support this quality of charitable musical instruments gift giving.

The Sons and daughters will do likewise if a very secure /transparent and rigorous set of protocols (with enough redundant safety checks & balances built in and there is a superior ratio of (management of fund -to- actual dispersal of units to children. (Much like my F-15's overall weight –to- wing area ratio coupled to a high thrust-to-weight ratio thus achieving superior turning / rolling and climbing advantages.

These factors bode well in the current "foggy bottom" 0f global economic malaise and heightened suspicions and distrust in the region and St Lu in particular.

Our children are not just our future.

With them we can shape a more respectable future society for St Lucia -via colaborative, appropriate preparation and guidance (as in quality time-especially the dreaded downtime opportunities).

However, we must be wary of 'spoiling' them in our drive to see that they have a 'better ' life than our own achievements.

Learning to play an instrument enhances the intrinsic motivation for progressive inquiry in both inductive and deductive modes for all academic areas of study.

The self becomes more amenable to achieving Self actualization.

It foils the pervasive habits that entrench obesity and rabid consumerism.

Like sports it promotes both individual and team aspirations.

It promotes the acceptance of responsibility and good citizenship.

It can help us to cope with melancholic or negative threats to our emotional social equilibrium

(This reminds me to set my audio surround sound system for the performance of ( Johann Sebastian Bach's St. John Passion) in its original entirety today Friday, April 18, 12 noon on WRTI.org

Performed in English and conducted by Valentin Radu with his Ama Deus Ensemble together with the Boys Choir of the city of Brotherly love - Philadelphia.)

As repentant activities dominate our agenda this day - I pray that OUR DIVINE GOD grants those with memories of a normal Simply Beautiful St Lucia

- pause to consider infusing musical instruments in primary schools

- the Choiseul area school performance is a great place to start

- a meaningful next step for their exemplary performance and authentic initiative.

Amen

I am afraid that beyond some level of 'music appreciation', these efforts are incapable of teaching life skills that can easily translate into a stream of income for its best-performing individuals. I love all kinds of music save dancehall noises from Jamaica's riff-raff and its ghettos.

@5:22
I concur with your succinct assessment and musical tastes. Yes, a rudimentary music appreciation platform is needed to develop the fundamentals.
Thanks for the Mt Gimie Java. I do realize that your prerequisite music appreciation classes are part and parcel of the budget cutting of Arts programs -even in large metro areas where the arts are a key segment of the tourism industry. Allow me to include your recommendations and plead further WHY this music program is sorely needed?

In our heritage region now dominated by music that persuades the popular culture to dress in what use to be "teddy" lingerie for that special honeymoon -

-and in said costume to dance (publicly
)to mimic suggestions of coitus in the most uninhibited exaggerations of fluid body language.

- This is the plateau that too many of our primary school children will ascend to and STAGNATE
within the subculture of cultural retardation (not to be confused with the DSM-V definition of Mental retardation).

The implications of cultural retardation include:
-Learned helplessness
-A significant drive towards Economic dependency that utilizes all the attributes of a prolific "scam artist".
-Ones biological entity is not viewed as a sacred temple- the preference ascribed to it is as a bargain commodities & exchange OBJECT for any impromptu market or vendor stall.

Recently, I read in some column where kids who are obviously chronic in their manifestations of cultural retardation keep their school uniforms on while engaging in the public street fetes where the aforementioned exaggerated gyrations are displayed to the satisfaction of Bacchus & Dionysus-

-and of course the hefty wallets of crafty "wolves" lurking, scanning,selecting behind tinted screens.

-was that a 10 year old I read of who was pregnant?

-So the predictive criterion when fathers must invent a mental CHASTITY PAD BELT is no longer for their 15-16 year old.

- I do realize the implication of a double standard - however most men and women will concur that at a common level of maturation the female genitalia is far superior in commanding the male genitalia - to arousal and consummation
- rather than the other way round.

Why? Girls get a turbo charged GROWTH SPURT that is typically 3 years advanced than their male counterparts- at about the age of 10 or so.

This means that if a girls genotype predisposes her to be "big bone". Then that growth spurt provided by nature takes on overdrive turbocharged proportions.

With a lil mascara, painted blush & ubiquitous red gloss lipstick + Korean wig + distracting finger tips + their VS bra converted to pass as fashionable Halter top + rhinestone P**M P**M rider shorts (the ones preferred by Jamaican bikers) over seductive stockings + a few strategic costume jewelry and accessories

- Voila! The converted child easily passes as "newly legal age women" on Jerimie Street or low light discotegues

as if auditioning for a role in the musical "OH CALCUTTA"!

-In the pulsating mind numbing hysterics of dance hall gyrations

-she becomes enticing, provocative, demonstrative with talent even an Emperor Nero would solicit.

- That 3 year growth spurt looms more menacing at the 13 year old milestone. Fathers are ripe for their initial worrisome grey hairs.

- At 13, (depending on their phenotypes) nature provides females with a physio - socio - emotional toolkit capable of snaring males 17-21 (the hot blood age for males) and beyond.

- Hence the invention of mental chastity belts by worrisome fathers.

None of the above is new. The oldest profession evolved from exploiting this natural development.

Today it is more like a critical mass in a high school lab.

Hence, the need for a music instruments and appreciation program in elementary /secondary schools ...

If only to enhance academic interest, goal setting and the best on board chastity belt- the ability to delay /potpone gratification or acquisition of internalized self control abilities.

That there is better than nothing. However, it is much better to facilitate the introduction of more and classical instruments at this young and tender age that are difficult, for older ones and grown-ups to master. The violin comes to mind. A feed into a viable national symphony orchestra should be the outlook. By now almost everyone in the field should be aware of the contributions of the music by Mozart especially to young brain development.

Touche! Good form! Brilliant! and so succinct.
If there were virtual tabs: Your Easter dinner is on me- paired with a choice Riesling - Salute!

I am so enlightened by your conversation.

Alas, it is back to the drawing boards to harness the brilliance of your post with the hope
that at the very least scaffolding schematics can be drawn up to render your vision statement
into a viable plan of constructive development.

I thank you for sharing from your profound depth of knowledge.
