Good piece Carlton. But why are you surprised that these killers value their lives? Why do you think the killers on death row go to such lengths to cheat the hangman? Basically far from being bad-johns, these guys are cowards. that's what they are. And don't for a minute think decent jobs is what these lazy SOBs want. Not when they can earn a year's salary from one raid or hit.

Good letter!!!This crime thing and hit list is not getting the support it needs to succeed. I understand that there is a minister of government who notified a young lady whose name is on the list to leave the country and even paid her passage to leave. Another minister it is said put the police up to killing Bage because Bage asked him for 40grand to have a birthday bash and the minister could not come up with the money at the time so he set the police on his HIT MAN!! So please tell me who are the persons feeding these criminals????

Maybe the hit-list is good information, or maybe not. Whether a "hit" comes from a fellow gangsta or the police, if you've chosen to be "in", you're in and you shall live the life of "he who lives by the sword, shall die by the sword"......

On the other hand, if there is a hit-list, there's open opportunity for corruption by way of taking those who aren't "in favour" out.

Dangerous stuff....

you understand this and you understand that. You're no better than the criminals by peddling unsubstantiated rumour for political gain. You moron!

Although I do not agree with all of these sentiments expressed in your article I do agree tha the politicians need to come up with alternatives for the youth of the island. It feels that these disaffected youths are full of hopelessness, as you stated there needs to be a change of attitude in the education system and children need to be empowered to want to be productive members of society. The behaviour shown by adults needs to change to give the young good role modelling. Only being interested in rum and sex is not a good legacy for the youth.

I don't get the reason for this article. Sounded like useless dribble. You mention Lawlessness as if what the Police is doing is ok.

Crime is Crime but are the ordinary citizens the only ones who commit them? What separates the police from the criminals they pursue? How are they different?

So please do a little bit more research into behavior and look more at the reasons for the Social decay in St.Lucia before you defend this Barbaric attitude by our Police and leaders.

Police are supposed to uphold the law, not become the very criminals that they hunt. It's attitudes and actions like these that keep us in the Stone age.

This country is never short of TWATS. Nevertheless let me extend my gratitude to the hard working cops who put their lives and family at risk to protect us. You ladies and gents are always in my prayers and keep the pressure on. May god bless you all.
