THE BUDGET

With numbers drawn largely from a hat, or from thin air, Mr. King should go on and cut the chase. Take the vote. He has a sure majority even with Jannine's defection from the party of incompetents. It will pass. Stop boring us to tears, please!

Joker!!

No he is not a joker. When Kenny was PM we got numbers as if milk and honey was flowing in St Lucia. King is not perfect--but I will accept his numbers any day and any time over that of a lawyer who give 45 million away.

Best budget recital by a P.M. Looked more confused than I was. Can't blame the guy though. Blame those who think that a guy who was dependent on someone else to pay his house rent for years is best suited to run the country,

Oscar performance! Great recital. Worthy of reruns in a live Broadway show in New York. Who says that the PM does not have talent?

He know what he doing! He reading!

Anonymous said...

Yea man! He reading. He reading out loud for all to hear!

Anonymous said...

Reading with words he can hardly pronounced, run on sentences...what a performance!!

@#3...do you really think that King understood what he was saying? This is beyond his intellectual capacity. As a previous blogger said, it was only a recital. He was only reading from a script and didn't know or understood the half of what was written for him.

Let him and any labour candidate sit down at a roundtable!! The mere thought of that will scare the sheet outta him!!

What is the value of a budget if there is little faith in the numbers. The UWP is going though marking time until elections. They are not fooling anybody but their blind party hacks.

Stop trying! You just making people get more and more disgusted! It is the end already. People can see through your bluff. Get out of the way!

Amen, above.

The next general elections will mark the end time for Kenny! Of course he is now using different tricks in an attempt to prevent the inevitable from happening. But time is against him and knows it too.

If nothing else, age will eventually overtake Kenny. I believe that St. Lucians have learned their lesson regarding electing the very elderly and near dead into office.

We were waiting for SLP to announce its full slate of candidates.

Now answer me this question.

How comes it that Dr. Vaughan Lewis left the UWP, joined the SLP, and today he is NOT a candidate running for office under the SLP banner?

IS IT THAT HE DOES NOT CONSIDER KENNY AS BEING FIT TO BE HIS 'BOSS' AS PM?

Anonymous said...

Kenny never wanted Vaughn as candidate. Since Vaughn owed him he demanded that Vaughn join the SLP as payment and pasture. Same strategy applied for Lorraine, Morella (his cousin-in-law) etc.

Alright then. Therefore, can we say that Mr. Anthony has the best interests of the country at heart? Or, is he like John Compton before him, only interested in he being the supreme and MAXIMUM leader?

Dear Reader, does that persuade you that Mr. Anthony is good for the country, when, he, like the current PM knows so very little about BOTH management and economics?

Do you recall, how the SLP told the nation that STEP with limited employment and unsustainable employment was an economic measure to provide a multiplier and stimulate economic recovery?

Like King the boast was GDP. Yet we still have this persistent high rate unemployment under both governments. Who do they think they are fooling this time.

THE GOVERNMENT USED THE 'REBASED' METHOD OF ECONOMICS AND IT SHOWED AN INFLATED GROWTH OF 4%. UNDER THE SAME METHOD, LABOUR WOULD OF HAD 11.4% GROWTH IN 2006

It is time we stop playing russian roulet with the future of our beloved fair helen.
Inspite of past mistakes by kenny and knowing we all are humans prone to make mistakes, You have a goverment who has been in office for over four years and what has they accomplished for the good of all st lucians NADIR.
Let Focus on King especially this budget and sorry to say that its ashame for all st lucians Couldn't we have come with something better and isn't this a reflection of who we are as a nation Now THAT"S A SHAME.
Now again look at mr king, mr prudent, and mr prudent, who has the best qualification, the pedigree, the charisma, the Education, the Experience to lead st lucia into the 21st century

Labour party supporters forget that in Kenny's last or 2nd to last budget, Sarah Flood Beaubrun brought up the fact that no money had been allocated to the sinking fund to pay off debt.

The sinking fund is the mechanism used to ensure that there is available money to pay off upcoming debt that has matured and usually includes 10s of millions of dollars.

i.e. St. Lucia was brokes, skint, without moneeee !!!!

Kenny and Phillip told no one that they were so broke that money could not be allocated to pay off this debt. They were hoping as they went along to use it from cash flow and/or grant payments from other countries. The latter was obviously not the correct thing to do but they just threw all the money in the treasury and used it as they needed it.

When the UWP came in this was exposed in Parliament as just one more example of the facade and "smoke and mirrors" that was Kenny's style and he did not have a clue as to what he was doing.

He is yet to explain this or Rochamel or the NCA or any of the incompetencies of his tenure.
All along also St. Lucia recorded only an average 1% growth rate even as the SLP were "prime pumping" the economy with $1 billion in debt.

Now that is a joke !

KENNY HATER ..........THE CABINET GUARANTEED THE LOAN AND NOT KENNY. THE COMMISSION STATED THEY DID NOT WANT EVIDENCE FROM KENNY PERSONALLY.

Believe you me Mr Anthony is the best choice for st lucia at the moment, Whether we like him or not but among the leading candidates for prime minister he is definitely our best choice.
So please put aside the hatred and do what is right for the future of your country if you really love it and the future of our young people.

Among the uwp there are a criminal network going on and its not good and have been hurtin the progress of our beautiful island because the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer

In 2007, Rufus called his government budget "a karoake budget". The same holds true for the 2011 budget from King, nothing has changed in favor of progress to St.Lucia. KING IS A JOKER BUT THE LAST LAUGH WILL BE THAT OF VOTERS.

Budget? What budget? Since when does s shopping list becomes a budget?

Did any one of the speakers convince you that either had the barest inkling of public finance management? Did you get that coming from the rack of elected jokers? The most obvious conclusion from the debate is that the numbers were 'cooked'. Somebody cooked the books. The debate on the numbers then is pointless.

YOU CANNOT TRUST THE UWP WITH MONEY. NEVER!!!
