Is the pm is entering a stage of dementure?

Get it right on the home from first. St.Lucia, Caricom, Oecs - cannot influence ZIP.

A total waste of time.

From "intervenes" to "write." We'll get the true story. But at least someone is reading. Kenny should be pushing the countries who are part of the Commonwealth to re-examine their positions of members of the Commonwealth to determine whether there are rewards in remaining in that status. There is absolutely nothing that he can write about to change the situation. However, Kenny must not show that he is working for working sake. He must produce results.

It was ADP now it is APD..

This is a dilemma for Her Majesty because Her largest and oldest Government is bullying and starving off Her little Ones. I hope She has something to say about it.

This is a battle Kenny will lose. This is just diversionary tactics from better days.

He feels if he is in the news talking about international stuff, we all go be distracted

Hey Kenny,

Nothing from nothing leaves nothing.

No plan -SLP -gween =zero

You never had a plan to start off with!!!

Kenny who??

aa Lucia indiscreet eh? St. Lucia has their own airport tax here and wants to tell another country that to remove their tax because it is a hindrance. LOL. Sometimes, the response to these Caribbean countries needs to be a videotape of the relevant authorities laughing in their face. Ridiculous

What does the clown Kenny Anthony mean by "He hopes he(the Chancellor) can resolve it amicably ?"

Is he going to close St. Lucia's airports to English visitors in retaliation?

Is he going to have his WICBC failure Hillaire boycott Buckingham Palace events?

As is usual Kenny Davis Anthony has proven himself to be nothing more than bluster and hot air. He says everything and produces nothing and his poddle Phillip Pierre simply sits there laping up all the incompetence.

He borrows hundreds of millions annually to the detriment of our middle class and our children and has nothing to prove for it irrespective of whether or not the international economic is booming or in recession.

And our local journalists simply regurgitate Kenny's nonsense instead of calling him out on his lack of results.

Kenny no longer has a solid economy as bequethed by Sir john. Instead he has to deal with the result of his failures and spendthrift ways from 1997-2006 when he bankrupted St. Lucia.

All he is left with is talk, take and travel and has nothing to offer after another 8 months in power.

Kenny and Phillip operate on the basis of "do as I say ,not as I do.

Does he intend to lower or remove St. Lucia's airport tax so that British visitors have a little more to spend in St. Lucia? I know we can spend this money better than that failure Kenny.

Why should the British visitor pay our tax and not the English tax?

Whenever you look deep into Kenny Anthony's words you see the dupliciteous talk and "6 for a nine" attitude that has killed our society.

And St. Lucians just quietly get led to the slaughter.

By the way: What about Grynsberg? Whe de oil !!

We are getting like Zimbabwe. We just sit there like moos moos as Mugabe/Kenny does his thing and we keep on sliding down.

Kenny could do nothing when the Western World was BOOMING economically.

With the USA and Europe imploding what do you expect him to do now ?

Wake up St. Lucia ! Get up and start to think!

DR.KENNY should be focusing on how to appease st lucians who haven t seen the better days yet..we are not naive to think better days can happen in a few short months but keep us upto date, about any recent investors or investment as he uses the TV,RADIO,PRINT MEDIA to voice these updates, i believe under slp more investment does occur be it minimal or moderate.

BY RIGHT AT LEAST TWICE ANNUALLY GOV MINISTERS AND PARLIAMENTARY REPS SHOULD BE ON OUR TVS UPDATING THE VARIOUS COMMUNITIES WHAT HAS BEEN DONE AND WHAT WILL BE DONE B4 THE NEXT BUDGETARY ESTIMATES..just doing something differently can make ppl believe here is a gov that is always working behind the scenes that alone can help win votes and seats in the next election

i do believe by mid 2014 if the world economies does turn around for the better ..that st lucia will have a major turn around in job creation esp in the construction industry ..BUT that will all depend on the local investors and business houses to be innovative in introducing new services and commercialism to st lucia..WE LACK SO MUCH THINGS HERE I DONT SEE HOW IS IT THAT LUCIAN BUSINESS MEN ARE ALLOWING ALL THOSE OVERSEAS COMMERCIAL IDEAS TO PASS THEM BY AND NOT BRINGING THESE IDEAS BACK HOME TO MAKE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES AND TO BRING NEW SHOPPING EXPERIENCES FOR OUR LOCALS AND VISITORS ALIKE .. lack of innovation and risk takers thats what we lack

Last post was a good observation..the problem is the sabotage of new ideas and businesses once you do not belong to the inner circle. There is no shortage of ideas to move the country..the problem is the ownership of these ideas.....go to NDC and ask them to see the Business Cemetery.

How about doing what he said he would do in the budget and remove the airport development tax. It's been 3 months and the airport development tax is still being charged. Did he mislead the public during the budget presentation.

From the budget presentation on Page 50.

http://web.stlucia.gov.lc/primeminister/budgetaddresses/Saint%20Lucia%20Annual%20Budget%20Statement%202012.pdf

"This then leaves the question of the Airport Development Charge (ADC), imposed on all and
sundry travelling to and from Saint Lucia. In Opposition, this Government has always had
difficulty with this tax. In our view, this tax is unconscionable at this time especially, given our
challenges in increasing stay-over tourism arrivals. It is a tax to pay for an event in the future.
Not one block has been put into the ground to justify the tax. The Government, therefore, will
suspend the application of the section of the Act authorizing the tax for the time being. This
will give immediate relief to travelers. However, we wish to state, explicitly, that it may
become necessary to reintroduce the charge when the airport expansion commences."

I have to laugh I said this was comming but no ignore the professional st.lucian expats abroad you will need us desparately but you have treated us like cow dung for far too long.

I personally don't care any more as an entrepreneur in one of the professions making multiple 6 figures a year and rising. Many of us tried to warn the politicians that they should not ignore us like they did...now we have turned our back on you.

to anon..2:49 pm...in the budget the prime minister did say, as he quoted SLASPA that in 2011 due to the increased departure tax the gov made $7million USD and slaspa will be collecting $10million USD in 2012 so very likely that increased departure tax will be completely removed at the beginning of 2013 or just after the 2013 budget.. OK.. IT WAS SAID IN THE BUDGET ..LISTEN A LITTLE MORE CAREFULLY..

So I referred to your leader a Moron and for this you deleted my post. Is this the level of your journalism in this 21st century? Go take a page off of the CNN blog site you third world wing nutts. And again your Prime minister is a Moron just like the people he represents.

Every day we hear that St. Lucians are bending under the burden of incompetent leadership.

First it was Vaughn Lewis. Then it was Kenny Anthony and Phillip Pierre. Then it was Stephenson King and now we have gone back to the Labour Party incompetence.

You meant to tell me we cannot find an honest, courageous and problem solving person to fix our country and provide good leadership ?

Every year brings us that much closer to Haiti !!

It does not take an intelligent person dress with prestige with the title of doctor attached to their names to understand Dr.Evil and La Corbiniere are uncomfortable with last week’s events at the US embassy in Bridgetown.

They can spin it how they like over the local media as they did yesterday on BDS. Which raises an important question why would a Prime Minister and his Minister of Justice of this small island nation hurriedly take to the airwaves in an attempt to do damage control for a storm that has yet to hit St. Lucia?

Bottom line is they are very worried and afraid their own lies will come back to hunt them. You are watching a bunch of corrupt fools trying to save face with the inevitable!

Kenney Anthony aka Dr. Evil speaks the truth for the first time in his entire political career at yesterday’s 24th annual Castries East Constituency Conference.
Dr. Evil was indeed correct when he said to his supporters the following:
“The UWP is party that clearly understands psychological warfare, and should never be underestimated”!
Dr. Evil why are you accusing the UWP of fabrication, when by all investigative accounts you and your SLP goons wrote the book on fabrications and innuendos?

Response to Betta Dazs Ahed

" This will give immediate relief to travelers. However, we wish to state, explicitly, that it may
become necessary to reintroduce the charge when the airport expansion commences"

He also had that line in the budget presentation. I guess it is not quite immediate if he keeps the tax for another year while deciding whether the airport expansion commences. If he keeps it until the next budget then the airport development tax which SLP rightly complained so much about during the election would have been in effect for much longer under the SLP government than under the UWP government.

It's interesting to be complaining about APD when the island is charging an airport development tax for an airport expansion plan that has yet to be decided.

Kenny Anthony has NOTHING to offer the people of St. Lucia and NOTHING to show after 8 months in office.

He is running from CARICOM to the OECS to ENGLAND to Jamaica to Trinidad to Antigua offering his usual roroish banter and rambles.

We in St. Lucia know that things are getting worst, that the hotels are empty and that his Administration is just paying off its SLP hacks with bigs jobs.

Kenny giving advise to England ! LOL ! What a joker with his magical thinking !

Kenny might as well paint his hair red!

For all you doubters, there is a huge ground swell of opposition to these taxes in the UK, many MP's have taken up the issues, and petitions are flying accross the internet. The PM is right, only the Carribean region has these high airport taxes, and people won't travel because of them. Its a serious issue, of course if you don't mind only tourists from American....enjoy!!

Anonymous said...

The ground swell has nothing to do with Kenny but due to lobbying efforts by tourism experts in the UK and the Caribbean. This lobbying effort has been taking place from last. What Kenny has to do is join the team of lobbyists and stop creating a fragmented approach.

Stop the spin. There is a complete video on the lobbyists efforts.

Can anyone tell me, will custom and excise charges be different with the introduction of VAT?
