An unhappy calm returns

Your first article is inextricably tied to the second. But alas! You can't see the forest for the trees.

The dominant culture is the collectivistic dependency and role of African tribalism.

Here, like in Africa, you don't step out of the "tribe", or must walk in lock step with it, unless you wish to be expelled and serve as food to be "eaten" by the predators in the forest or jungle.

Noticeably and similarly again, you shut up and accept the status quo -- no lesser part of which is frightening respect for the "power distance" between the "haves" and the "have-nots" -- in terms of social status, coercive and economic power.

Education is the key to eroding these dysfunctional factors, but not with paid and unpaid guardians of the status quo manning key areas and sources of information, misinformation and disinformation.

Yes, Prudent of the LPM is our new court-jester.

Hey! get off your nonsense about African tribalism.

Josie is refusing to acknowledge a changed political environment that requires for new skills and perspectives.

So he is very much a product of the problem he is trying to explain.

On the UWP, the writer lacks the courage to tell his readers that Richard Frederick should be dumped by the party before it can regain credibility with the public.

Well said blogger could not have said it better.

More power to African tribalism! Isn't that what makes the African nations great? Developed? Superior? Advanced? Super powers even?

Yep-p-p-p-! If we keep on bashing the LPM, won't better days appear a great deal sooner than the fake and bitter ones they have been trying hard, but failing to sell us in exchange?

But you see, or you are failing to accept, that neither King nor Kenny know not one fart about restructuring an economy.

For example, every time Kenny gets in, his first STEP is to STEP right into it -- a load of political CRAP.

When King gets in, the drug baron has his back.

He deftly manipulates the king's wooden jaws. See now, how more and often he speaks, now that he out of office. Just our amazing and cruelly amusing realities.

Saint Lucia they say is idiot country!

You're an idiot!

But of course! The majority of people elected to parliament by a plurality are idiots. Who do you think that these idiots REPRESENT? Geniuses?

Spineless! People without backbones writing unadulterated crap without even a hint of honesty.

Who the hell cannot see that the mass moles promoted by the Castries constituencies, and voted for by the unsavoury characters of the underground economy need to be removed from UWP for the sake of decency and commonsense?

You have to be a real and thorough jackass not to realize that.

Josie is such a contradiction and a coward himself. He describes the brave people of St. Lucia as "timid", saying: "On the other hand their timidity may well stem from a lack of self respect and the self demeaning posture that many assume in the face of a common foe." These are Josie's words. Yet he himself is clearly too afraid and timid to speak the whole truth about Richard. He is afraid to simply say that the problem with the Party is Richard, and that the Party should let Richard go away. Who's "timid" Peter?

Josie is so obvious. You have to be a real idiot not to see through him. The trouble is that such dinosaurs believe that they still have the supine audiences of stupid.

Yes Josie, such audiences are largely in the UWP constituencies. Unfortunately they outnumber those with any intelligence.

If the land mass would move, those idiots would tilt the country into the sea.

Watch out for the brain drain after any freedom of movement initiative is realized in the OECS.

Saint Lucia is so much idiot country!

If Prudent is a court-jester; then I would describe Kenny AND TONY AS A COURT-CASE- CHESTER.

It is true St. Lucian’s have a history of passing judgments without sufficient facts information or evidence. All those who seem to fixate on Richard Frederick as the whipping boy for all what is wrong within the UWP are living on La La land.

The division within the UWP is not base on any actual wrong doing by Richard, but rather on simple jealousy and ignorance of members like Guy Joseph, Ezekiel Joseph, and Gail Rigobert.

These individuals lack poor understanding of team building which always required members of a team to bond and support each together during a crisis.
A perfect example of team building and working is the SLP. They support and cover-up for their members no matter if they have been accused of rape, bank fraud, and other financial crimes.

Richard Frederick has not been charged or convicted of one single criminal offense yet some continue accused him of being the black sheep of the UWP. There are others in the party who has been convicted in the US for passport fraud and no one is asking for their removal. This type of hypocrisy which continues to exist in the UWP by those individuals is detrimental to its political survival. I submit to you without Richard Frederick the UWP will have no voice.

Would anyone who has a PHD be the smartest person on Earth?

There is a paradox about intelligence and education. The more degrees a person has, the less likely he or she is to have any common sense whatsoever. It's like Muscle Beach. You ask somebody on Muscle Beach to solve a problem and he will use brute strength on it.

You ask somebody who has spent 21 years in school to solve a problem and he or she will write a research paper on it.

All doctors have as much education as any Ph.D. My surgeon sliced his finger open cutting firewood. I mean, his entire income depends on his hands. You shake his hand you can hardly feel the grip, but he cuts his finger open with a saw.

My brother-in-law had a PhD and was a Fulbright scholar. He didn't know what a Phillips screwdriver was. I wanted to tell him, "Orange juice, vodka and Milk of Magnesia" but I knew he wouldn't get the joke.

The mind set in on this 238 square miles rock that people with university degrees are best qualified to run this small nation of approximately 200,000 is nonsense.

A person with good every day common sense makes a much better and effective manager than those dress with prestige with a framed piece of paper handing on their walls!!
