FISCAL STALEMATE No Union Response To GNT Idea

That country bookie still does not know that EMPLOYER "expenditure reduction" is not an issue that is mandatory in any COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT. Unions REACT to, and do not PROPOSE employer expenditure reduction, when the employer OPENS THE BOOKS IN GOOD FAITH BARGAINING SITUATION.

Expenditure? That is the employer's or owner's business. They fix that how they can!

SLP was VERY HOSTILE and ADVERSARIAL by placing on the SUPPOSEDLY negotiation table a fait accompli.

Mr. Man, it does not work so in civilized society!

This is not like in the backwoods of Choiseul. We are not negotiating in any deep Hillbilly-type country side. We have moved on old chap!

What is on the table right now is country bookie styled ZERO-SUM distributive bargaining. The negotiating party that does this, DOES NOT HAVE ANY INTENTION TO BARGAIN IN GOOD FAITH!

Any opposing party at that does this in a supposedly negotiating setting does not hope to engage the other opposing party for the long term. For the long haul. Are you looking for a short-term victory to crow about?

Novices and country bookies do not seem to know the difference in distinction between 'employer expenditure', the holistic view, and wages, JUST ONE SUB-COMPONENT OF 'expenditure'. The advisors are dumb! This novice will not learn!

'im head hard!' But 'im signing international business agreements, dem say. He-he-he! Oui mamma!!

This whole affair is very unhealthy and it is starting to affect the every day man. I agree with the Unions. There are otherways to approach this whole problem. 1st item withdraw VAT go back to the original Duties etc. The multiplier effect of VAT is killing the country. Find ways to cut back on all the appointments made after the last GE.Dont spend money you dont have $6,000,000 on a road with borrowed money you cant pay back for. Its sad St.Lucias Captain has made some very bad choices. Why should you fly to UK to seek investment you have a fully staffed mission there ? You should close it.

3:39pm did you say roll back VAT? What part of the world are you living ? Slu is part of Caricom and did sign the EPA. So please let us know how you propose to implement those Doxilly economic theories of yours.

The Prime Minister's approach seems very dictatorial and confrontational. He is not trying hard enough to develop a healthy relation with these unions and, by extension, the people of Saint Lucia. We too will suffer greatly from any industrial unrest in this country.

IMF come in.

@ 5:41 what does the EPA have to do with VAT in SLU?

Anonymous said...

5.41 even if you signed an agreement ? which I am unsure of? Your Vat could start at .5 %. The whole VAT matter is a problem it burdens a business and everyone else. I would prefer a sales Tax .... full stop. But not at this time. This countries economy is very iffy. It needs stability. It needs a leader who can go beyond what he wants to do but what is right for the country.
The spending of Money the country has on these financed projects is going to come back to bit everyone in the Butt. You can not pay your loans as it is how come you think you can pay new loans which by the way no Bank will give you.

I wonder why the GNT had to be reactivated. Is it that last year when the president of the CSA called on the Prime Minister, to intervene in the negotiation because the GNT had no teeth, it was the Minister that have the final say? However today the President don't want to talk with the Minister Of Finance no more, so, activate the same GNT which had no teeth to bite then. The lower rank in the CSA like we use to say WATHCYOU BREAD for those who control your daily bread now , know they are not the ones that will be retrenched if it evercomes. IT IS YOU!!

Just follow what Castro did. Kenny does not have smarts to do otherwise. There will be blood.

HE must unload his cronies, toadies and yardfowls from the payrolls before he talks any more shit about sacrifice. Go to hell!

8:09Am the reduction of duties on goods of European origin. How do you recover the reduction of revenue on imports?

Anonymous said...

Who needs a government whose philosophy of governance is one based on government larceny?

SLP do not steal the public servants money and salaries to pay for the upkeep of your yardfowls.

Come clean.

Hotels such as: Jade Mountain, Sandals, Anse Chastanet, Ladera, Sugar Beach, etc.; which have benefitted immensely from St.Lucia, while paying zero taxes, should be asked to make some sort of monetary contribution (for a year or two) to this country's huge fiscal deficit.

After all, advertising and promoting this country to keep some of these very hotels full has without a doubt contributed to this fiscal mess.

Picture this. $87 million is the deficit and budget gap.

Now Compare this with what just one financial ignoramus has squandered and cost us. We are the ones suffering from all these jackass spending:
1. Rochemel/Frenwell $45 millon
2. Black Bay repurchase necessary costing $85 million
3. Grynberg $168 million plus legal fees, some saying $500 millon plus legal fees.

Now add to all of these these non-investment expenditure such as forcing King to pay the 14.5% wage and salary increase and to back this up with a $160 million dollar loan. Untold millions disappeared as if in a black hole with the NCA COMMESSS.

Smart enough for you? Add job for the boys with new posts for all the idle consultants and expanded embassy staff, all lame-brained and brain-dead.

Super-qualified Ministers of Jackass Spending have no place in Saint Lucia's economy. Hurry. Gather your bleating SLP flock and leave. It is time to get the flock out!

6:11am Then tell us how the last administration borrowed from 2008 to meet their recurrent expenditure and hid that from the public. I guess they were hungry for power rather than doing what's right for the country. Where were you when your man Allan was raking up those huge bills? Oh you are one of those leaches on the famous bull.

2 7:21 AM, foolish us. We thought SLP had the monopoly of creative genius to provide solutions. It turns out Saint Lucian politicians are just reprobates. They have no moral compass.

Is that what you so very busy getting your knickers all twisted up, and about up there?

When we let politicians???? full our heads with their bullshit and we cannot think for ourselves how do we see things differently.

6-11 bravo! The workers took too much and it's coming back to haunt them now, but the real blame lies in the profligacy outlined by that poster.

Kenny has spent like a drunken sailor and there's nothing to show for it. The worse thing is the debt has reached a point when you are nearly spending more on interest than in cutting the actual debt. This won't end well. IMF will be in and they will make the cuts for you. Particularly if Kenny won't cut the fat at the top first.

Many of us who go ahead and blame Kenny, is that we like to listen to people like juke bois in which his radio show is not informative and educational We have become a nation of gossipers and do not understand the role of leadership and what is involve so what we do we just bash out of no reason, Shame and the uwp themselves are spreading more propaganda when they were there for 5 years and left the country bleeding and hence the reason why we suffered. and instead of taking responsibility for our actions we blame others.

Boy you sans honte oui. You bareface like your Massa to associating the word leadership with the MENDACITY of your MASSA? You must be on of his lap dogs, Bon Dieu?

A, A! You know the meaning of leadership my boy? Yes, puppy. Where you went to school, uhn? In Balembouche? Gros couyon!

Author please, please! Please don't confuse a negotiation stalemate with the 2000 pound gorilla -- the deficit sitting in the room. Get your terms right. Please. This is very misleading. You are confusing the issues.

What the hell are we doing being saddled with a finance minister who LOSES MONEY GEOMETRICALLY!

Who needs this kind of failure for a financial manager:

1) $87 MILLION deficit, fuelled by the 14.5% lie to the ENTIRE country
2) $45 MILLION, the Rochemal waste
3) $85 MILLION, the loss of BLACK BAY lands. What was GIVEN AWAY WIth no guarantee of A return OR ANY KIND OF ASSET RETURN, have to be REPURCHASED, if we want those lands back. Jackass politics. Jackasses doing business without the qualification.
4) $500 MILLION, estimated COST of the settlement of the lawsuit for ILLEGALLY selling part of the SEABED, plus the LEGAL FEES, for the eventual settlement. Yet again, there is no asset created and no returns coming from this expenditure or that investment.

Can Saint Lucia afford any more of this? Why the hell is this god damn LOSER still handling the affairs of this country?

What a frigging curse! Saint Lucia is idiot country!
