Jared Diamond in his book the Collapse, tells the story of the Dominican Republic as if it has become a success because one of its dictators systematically controlled the black population and increased the white population.

Reading Mr Chastanet's promotion of the "residency programme" one wonders if we need a more open discussion on such a programme, particularly the possible long term impact on black Saint Lucian given our history. Off course Mr Chastanet might say, as a businessman he does not care about history. He is free to say so, but for many Saint Lucians the struggle to get out of poverty with dignity continues

Kenny Anthony and the Castro brothers in Cuba, no chance in hell for investment for St. Lucia by the COSUN NATIONS. And that includes the United States, Britain, France and Canada.

Put that in your pipes and sm,oke it, well.

The visa thing isn't brilliant but you should be more worried about the little reported free movement within Oecs. This will be a bandits charter as people come and hide, or undercut your jobs further. There is simply not the capacity to deal with an influx of people you may not want.

It's a small island. It's character and people are in grave danger by the forces of globalisation.

St. Lucia is going down the drain. None of the people in the government are business men. Lawyers or corrupt thiefs. Chastenet is a business man. All talking bullshit and driving a BMW or big SUV. Big unrest will come in 2015 as the majority of the people cannot meet ends.
No rich foreigner would like to live here in a country full of pot holes and garbage. Too many incompetent people in the government and ministries. Most foreigners want to sell their houses and leave.

In a recession, budget deficits don't matter; as long as the money is being spent on development projects. Talking about five year projects that will pump money into the economy when it turn around to growth.

Tell me why stlucians, keep idiolizating little politicans, with no vision of building the economy, or lets justs creating jobs for the masses. St lucia dose not need reconcession stlucians do not need wage cuts after life is so hard, my underpants has holes in it, cause i can't afford a new pair, what st Lucia needs is someone with vision to build the country and create jobs for the people, why are the political panders keeping stlucia like a third world country, and they always crying government have no money, why is there no proper houseing.why.and why is it not kenny Anthony not cutting his salary if things are so bad.why.my people see the truth.this little political panders are eating all the state funds. What we need is a uprisings.demonstrations. Placards.chanting.take back all that belong to us the people of the land.do not vote for this little political pander's, vote for me no one Will go hungry. Everyone Will leave in good accommodation. There Will be free health care for all, you Will no longer pay for school books, free health care for everyone, our very own university, and stronger deplomatic ties with Russia and the middle eastern Arabs, cause they can help us,for get about America and England they only care about themselves and they interest.
God bless you my fellow stlucians
And forget about all little political panders who want your vote.

What stluica need is a man with vision, someone who is honest and is hardworking,
A man like David cameron the British prime minster you can see him on YouTube.
He is no bullshitter, he is a hardworker and honest.good guy lots of emotions.

August 26 at 1.06AM is dead right. On the button.

Crooked, corrupt; cocaine dealing politicians is what has brought down this country; and they are from all sides.

....take a look at all the professions: Lawyers don't build anything. They are legal historians. you want vision and creativity, look else where.
