boy de country run broke!!!go 4 what u and your family have been offered.
i totally agree- look out for yourself, career and family. There is nothing for St.Lucian except, drugs and prostitution. Take the offer!!!! UK i say. Africans, Jamaicans have done it-there is no shame there. In turn you can benefit the country in directly by opening doors for other hopeful St.Lucians with your opportunity
This young man has a tendency to complain while linking financial support from the Government with his performance or lack thereof. He should take a leaf out of Ms. Lavern Spencer's book where the approach seems to be the reverse.
U expect Kenny N Tony to give u support? Think again. What happen to those trips Kenny n Jadia n Shawn made to Cuba. They nvr knew u were around to look for training support for u? SMFH, EN ROUGE
My bredren forget about country nothing good aint gonna happen here for a long time, labar broke the country, think about your future and your family, you are not stuck between a rock and hard place. do the right thing son family first.
Look out for you and your family what is best for you, whichever country you decide to represent St. Lucians will still rally around you. Your country cannot support you take the assistance where you get it you are not the first to run under another banner, your heart will still be in St lucia do not give up your dreams and career
Go to another country while you can.
I don't get it. He moved to the UK but yet is complaining that st.lucia are not being supportive. If that's the case why not just take the offer from the Uk...would that not make the most sense??? If high jumping is something you really want to do then I guess you have to make sacrifices and giving up your st Lucian nationality will have to be one of them if you really want to get somewhere with sport. I agree with a previous poster...he always has the tendency to complain. The choice is simple which is more important your nationality or high jumping. Once you decide that the rest falls into place
Darvin, my dear, take the offer to represent another country. Many other athletes have done it before, you're not the first and you won't be the last. The support from St. Lucia will not be coming. Unfortunately, the people down here, even those in charge of sports have no idea what it takes to compete at that level. And as usual, they don't care. Do what's best for you and your family. St. Lucia will always be there. Make your decision quickly as you are getting up there in age. If you represent another country and do well. They may say, Darvin Edwards, formerly of St. Lucia. All the best.
i dont see other st lucian athletes complaining. maybe if you work hard st.lucia will start to back you again. come on now the olympics were 2 years ago and since then you havent done anything but yet you expect st.lucia to still give you a pay check every month. look at levern spencer and makeba alcide for example. they still going and working hard at competitions, and what are you doing?? awa gasa you always have something to complain about.
Really somebody has to fund his career. In other countries people family mortgage their houses in the hope of achieving financial glory. We Saint Lucians on the other hand expect the government to foot the bill...the dependency syndrome. Seriously, he cant be that good if he can't qualify for the finals. I doubt very much he has had any offers to represent any countries....Which athlete would not jump at a more lucrative offer to further himself and his family....stop the dependency syndrome!!
