Mr. Prime Minister, does it bother you that three little GIRLS were killed on the Gros Islet road NINE YEARS ago, and to date they have not received JUSTICE???
Is this Ministry of Finance made up of largely of stand-up comics? The Finance Minister is supposed to set policy and be au fait with the sectoral impact of each detail of the annual recitation called the Budget. This is how you keep in control and rapidly take corrective action to stay on track, or to change course.
Yet, we have an unexpected anomaly here. Strangely, it is the executioner of policy details that is doing all the explaining. This begs the question. How much of the recitations do the Ministers of Finance past and present really understand of what was read to the parliament? Have they been playing a game of Russian Roulette with the economy?
If you cannot understand, far less explain what was recited how much confidence can ever be reposed in the likelihood of any positive impact of the policy details and instruments hailing from the measures spelt out, or steps to be taken?
Next, for a subject matter that depends so much on order, logic, and especially, deep knowledge and management of the underlying assumptions, how can any PM rely on the formulation of a recovery/turnaround policy that depends solely on the opinion, and the cognitive limitations of just one single person? Who is kidding whom here?
