Why are Saint Lucians so passive? Why are they accepting, without a murmur, a tax on bank withdrawals. If there is one tax that is state imposed robbery it is this one. You have worked hard to earn that money be it by way of toiling in the banana field, teaching snot-nosed kids in the classroom, wiping the dirty booty of the sick in our hospitals, policing our mean streets. This is what is left after our income has already been taxed by the government and they still have to get their thiefing hands on it? That to me is unconscionable. In it's desperation to pay for its own profligacy this shameless government is robbing its citizens and they are accepting that so sheepishly. Portis Simpson-Miller tried this shit in Jamaica and Jamaicans protested until they had to back down and spineless St. Lucians took it lying down. That is unacceptable so people should now keep their money under their mattersses. Or leave it in banks that already have excess liquidity. Do the morons not see how that would adversely impact household consumption which is a critical element for economic vibrancy?

Where are those persons who claim to be journalists in this country?

There needs to be a serious discourse with the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance; to question him on behalf of the Public on all matters relating to the finances of the country.

Then I get the feeling that the journalists do not educate themselves on the financing and other operational matters of the public service; so that the right questions can be asked.

They sound too damn illiterate.
