It is a serious problem which needs immediate attention. Maybe extending the week to include weekends would help to expedite cases. With that being said caution must be taken not to release prisoners with deadly offenses carelessly just to reduce cost or the population in prisons. The problem of extended remand serves as a deterrent for would be criminals.

Reactivate the famous french prison colony @ Devil's island - French Guiana

- solicit special Caricom lease agreement discounts for housing convicted prisoners.

- Save on island prison space conditions for those awaiting trial

Potential benefits:

- hardened convicted criminals cannot access cell phone towers to run their goods and services from prison

- No threat to witnesses or law enforcement officers who participated in their path to justice

-more pacified demeanor -given the remoteness of the location

-a chance to actually engage in REHABILITATION with a more receptive pacified clientele.

- and so much more

Does any one gets bail in Saint Lucia? I know that some offences do not warrant bail but it certainly appears that everything fall into the no-bail category. The problem is compounded by the dysfunctional office of the DPP. Can someone drag us into the twentyfirst century?

The individual whose picture that should be shown here; is not the waste-of-a-time La Corbiniere; but rather Dr. Stephen King for his sterling work for the betterment of St. Lucia. La Corbiniere must be retired in the public interest.

This very picture depicts arrogance and conceit.

This idiot has always been a heartless punk ever since he was growing up on the Leslie-Land road. He is so stuck up a grain of mustard could not go up his ass. I can still see his wicked father with that pipe in his jaw telling us little kids walking and laughing on our way to school at the Ava Maria and R C Boys do not pass on the side of his sidewalk saying you all are too noisey. To hell with all La Corbs.

Above; very in teresting indeed. Chien par car fait chat!

Dogs do not make cats. Very poor choice for Minister for National Security; and he is yet to solve this matter regarding the Police and the non-financial support by the United States.

This country is in very bad business and the poor police force is paying for the wickedness of governments.

I have a daughter in Bordelais on remand. I would like to join this group. Can anyone direct me to the right person?

That's good move. It was time somebody addressed that serious situation. People should not have to go through such agony just because they did. I think those who have spent so much time on remand ought to be released. while a man has to pay for his wrongs he ought not to be treated so inhumanely. Justice is one thing, but inhumaneness is wrong. Deal with these men and set them free. Extended remands is not a deterrent. It is a travesty of justice.

Thanks to the group Justice for Remand. Our sons and daughters plight will be addressed once and for all .The Lord has answered my prayers....I want to be a part of this group for just Justice to be served in this country. Our children are human beings and do not deserve to be treated like animals sleeping on concrete floor during their time on remand due to overcrowding...while the powers that be sleep in their mansions .I really wander how they sleep,or if they can any way having to live with their conscience especially when there is little evidence to convict but are ensuring that they get someone to punish to make their position look good ..finally some people do care ...bravo Dr.King and his peers.

I Will continue to pray to the good Lord to guide and direct this group to ensure that justice is served for our children.let us not stand up to the national anthem until the last lines are really practiced in this country.

There may be times when we are powerless to prevent Injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest

I want to thank Dr. King,Mr George, and the host of the program ,last night for an Edifying and informative program, now as much as it is regrettable , the current state of our Judicial system, much of the blame is the gross incompetence of the DPP. I often ask myself what legacy is the DPP leaving behind ? as a parent with deep concern for my son held on Feeble Circumstantial evidence not knowing one grounds was he charged ???,I once heard a Magistrate said WITHOUT a REASONABLE DOUBT ,doesn't she knows the law ?.Why waste the Courts time, is it for her own selfish EGO ? refusing the poor and innocent child bail ,must I seek a forum outside the Island through an international news crew to smear this Island ? ,Why the Minister of Legal Affairs is sitting in his comfort and convenient office not doing anything ? Mr Prime Minister this is a time bomb ticking away get rid of that DPP ,food for thought why she has no deputy ? big question carry out a survey in DPP's office and find out ,get some one with family values and a heart in the office , we need to clear that back log of remands , save the country some badly needed funds ,No bail, where bail is needed , is not working for the state's welfare in mind. FREE THE INNOCENT Don't let your emotions run the courts
Thanks
