If you can get your employer not to deduct so much from your paycheck, next time you will most likely owe government. But you will not be able to use the tax refund as a forced savings. Keeping in mind the filing date you will have greater control over your blood, sweat and tears, meaning, your money.
Governments past and present have never been benevolent. Today they are rip-offs.
The people voted into office have mainly one thing in mind and that is to get the most of what they can honestly and dishonestly even.
Don't keep fooling yourself. Their election and re-election are the most important things to them. That is whether or not your tee-shirt is either red or yellow. You are just but a mere cog in their wheel of fortune.
