Education Conference

Bon dieu! They don't get it. Why do they have the cart before the horse here? Obviously, the planners have no real idea of what development education is. Otherwise, they would have made the sub-theme or subtopic the meat of the conference. We are not there yet. When will we ever shift from the aristocratic view of education, distancing ourselves from the romantic view of knowledge acquisition to developing human capital for wealth creation? Relevance given short shrift. Hot air is given top priority instead. Another missed opportunity.
Those organizers themselves need a real education on what is important for Saint Lucia. They may be get an B+ grade for pedagogy, but a D for relevance.
