When something good is happenning in the country we always have some negative attitude.

What good is actually happening in our country at the moment or am I missing something, nothing to do with having negative attitude!

Good article. Truth is self employment accounting for much of the new jobs in the UK does not mean that it can happen here. St Lucia does not encourage local business. The banks are the greatest hindrance and prefer to focus on the business man's family background than the business plan.

Talk of developing agriculture to diversify the economy has been circulating for some time now, long before the WTO ruling. Successive govts have done nothing nor provided a clear plan for the industry. Had we been proactive our deficit could have been lower by now. Our govts lack vision and the gonads to act. We are tire of all the talking and lack of action.

may4th 2.03 I agree theres nothing good happening in st lucia at the moment as 2.16 says are justice system is a joke! unemployment rising for sure and will get worse although if Kenny and the rest in government work out some dodgy deals with the Russians then unemployment might decrease, I suppose that's a positive! not! lets see how many get handshakes then, as well as those already done! while the rest of st lucia suffer on!Michael!

The banana industry has been in the crapper for over 25 years and since the start of the decline I have said that the farmers should be allowed to grow marijuana for export. With so many states in the USA making it legal we need to be prepared to participate in the early stages of exporting and reap the benefits, do let us fall by the way side with companies like Chiquita making the money on marijuana like they are doing on bananas.

Jackass politicians gave us jackass leadership and jackass government. Not a whimper from the likes of this fellow. That is why the unemployed have to continue to suffer, they doing nothing short of voting like jackass voters for so long.
