Combine the dogmatic day to day attention to details utilized in the training of Disney World/Land employees and their McDonald's counterparts (NB This not an endorsement of fast food franchises- Just the training manual of employees) so as to glean what works to achieve repeat customer via consistent exemplary service standards .Top it off with the innovative user responsive / friendly utilitarianism of APPLE products line-

Voila, you have a tourism boutique industry that captures its niche and increases its market share annually.

All the training in being hospitable and customer oriented awarness, triggers visions of the tempest in a teacup - the pool of tourist continues to diminish due to the stagnation in wages of the 99%.

According to every major data source, the vast majority of U.S. workers—including white-collar and blue-collar workers and those with and without a college degree—have endured more than a decade of wage stagnation. Wage growth has significantly underperformed productivity growth regardless of occupation, gender, race/ethnicity, or education level.

Simply stated, the vacationing money of the tourist product just isn't available in Western economy(s) as the cost of living rises and wages continue to free-fall.

Tourism is in Hospice and it's time to change the direction of vision or fall into deeper financial quicksand.

Chastanet said "Sandals Directors have reiterated time and time again that during this tough economic and competitive time, unless administrations come on board and understand that exciting concessionary methods are adopted to raise the tourism product, the region will lag behind and this is what Grenada, Barbados and Antigua have understood hence their cooperation with the Sandals group of companies. "

So basically, do whatever they want with great concessions or lucia gets nothing at all. As a frequent visitor from UK I fail to see how this benefits St lucia. Hotels are notorious at keeping the money in-house and the beenfits of tourism in lots of regards is overstated. Only by getting them into guest-houses will the locals stand a chance of getting some restaurant/bar money.

Chastanet - declare your interests before posting something as fact.

I forgot to add that this is also demonstrates herd mentality. Sandals just need one or two islands to capitulate to their demands, then they can claim that if X does not follow Y then X is going to suffer, so you better do what we say.

This is a disgraceful attitude. I can't believe more Lucians aren't annoyed by these rogues!
