The English colonial heritage isles are duplicating the Spanish Colonial heritage of JUNTAS, entrenched regimes or legal fiefdoms. Even the clever max out presidency term -retreat to prime-minister role - return to max out presidency again- by none other than strong arm ex KGB chief Putin-
Played on the melancholic revival of the glory days of defiant power broker and the Kkruschev and the suave international diplomacy of Kosygin.
Putin in enamored in his political quest to enshrine the imperial poise of the defunct USSR
-into a compact version localized around continental Russia.
-Many international variations on the "inferiority" or expunged inalienable rights of the people to choose or recall their political reps and to refine their governance in even greater DEMOCRATIC fashion are found in Malaysia, North Korea, China, Rhodesia, and subliminally in too man more.
The Caribbean has always been a "Security Reef" for the "El Norte" giant since President Monroe. As a result it has enjoyed a vigilance that has had mutual blessings. The continued limbo of Cuba 'severe economic / military sanctions -seemingly in perpetuity
- juxtaposed to the "forgiveness" of N. Vietnam (economic relations)in rapid fashion
-underscores the grave concerns and punitive consequences of the paternalistic El Norte.
- The RSLPD had a taste of mild chastisement that reflects the concerns of El Norte abot its vulnerable geo-underbelly.
- Atacks or regression of constitutional democracy can actually influence the election of more conservative and or hawkish republicans to the US congress and or presidency-sooner than later!
Two great pieces of writing to be revisited in these ominous times:
1- The Mayflower Compact 2- The Declaration of Independence.

Yes; we must rise against anything that does not redound to our advancement and our good.
So I am on board with that.
The recall of politicians found to be not 'fit and proper". must be included in our reform; as well as term limits. No more than two terms.
The 50% matter must be examined properly upon which we can arrive on a consensus from a referendum.
Not like what Kenny Anthony is trying with the Caribbean Court of Appeal matter.
