They have to be careful about giving monetary gifts to some of these athletes particularly the younger ones. If these athletes attend US colleges to compete, they cannot accept monetary gifts/compensation.
Agree and not to agree...we have to throw that thinking out of the window. Is something wrong giving your outstanding athlete a monetary award to purchase gears......we need to wake up and smell the morning due.
It is wrong if it jeopardizes their future participation as college athletes. Now if they have no intention of participating in college (in the US) or of participating as amateur athletes, then by all means, give away!
