the public may accept a 5% wage cut if the ministers and contracted consultants are also be paying for the PM folly in spending.
Anyone over 5000.- should have a pay cut of 15%.

Government's arguments are NOT FACT BASED! Not even the Minister of Finance, NOR even those in the Ministry of Finance have a good handle on the FIGURES THAT REALLY MATTER, meaning, THE LEADING ECONOMIC INDICATORS.
You see, neither the ECCB (and SAINT LUCIA should NOT ever be dependent on those from the ECCB) NOR Saint Lucia's Ministry of Finance is collecting and AGGREGATING RELEVANT AND CRITICAL PERFORMANCE DATA.
We too, are in a very sorry state of affairs when the Minister of Finance knows NOT and is clueless about the critical data sets that MUST BE MONITORED ON AT LEAST A QUARTERLY BASIS, TO REMAIN ON TOP OF OUR FINANCIAL POSITION.
It is all useless emotional crap that is paraded in the parliament, time and time again for reason and logic regarding our economic affairs.
One would pray that the current situation would force some of us to sit up and take note of the crap that passes for government in Saint Lucia and DEMAND POSITIVE CHANGE.
The arrogance of this administration is beyond any logic, any reason and anything close to commonsense.
Can anyone explain why this government wants to cut the wages of workers and not that of Ministers, Senators, PS's, and notwithstanding that of the Prime Minister himself.
Shouldn't they be setting an example to the citizens only to show that they too care for them?
The way I see it, if a Secretary have to take a 5% cut, then proportionately, a high ranking civil servant can easily get by with a 15% to 20% cut.
This cabal that passes as government will one day live to reap the grapes-of-wrath in a very angry nation, the wounds of which will live beyond their life time.
BUT DO THEY CARE? NO, THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN.

@6:17 PM, from where I sit, the term 'leading economic indicators' has never stumped anyone with a sound knowledge of macro-economics. It is better to allow others to think that you are stupid. But it is worse to open our mouths and/or to give evidence that leaves no doubt.
