Whither Sir Dwight?

Short answer: Missing in action.

All the responsible central banks around the world are activity taking measures to help respective governments of Member States cope with the economics of transformation associated with the vicissitudes of globalization, outsourcing, offshoring, and now re-shoring and insourcing.

The ECCB in all of this has responded with extraordinarily deafening silence. It is as if there is not such an institution in the economic life of the sub-region.

Looks like regional leaders have long time placed this region's economies on auto-pilot.

We must brace ourselves. Every man for himself.

At this high rate of official callous indifference, official abdication of responsibility and dereliction of duty, as evidenced in this last HOG CARICOM Antigua meeting, populations can only, with gross self-commiseration prepare for more turbulence ahead.

Mr Peter Josie, thank you so much for championing the cause of the people. God bless you for your direct and honest analysis of the situation. You are right and I am saying this as a business economist. You are doing what many are simply afraid to do. Continue the good works Sir and don't let these party detractors bother you. I am waiting for your next artilce.

The goodly knight was last seen on the Road to Damascus. Hopes he soon sees the shining light.

This article shows masterful command of the game characters "Knight" & "Bishop" on a political CHESS board.

I am amazed at the poignancy of your Sheffield-waterman plume or is it harpoon.

If le plume was a harpoon you would be the envy of Nunavut Inuits worth their seal or whale hunt allocations.

Thanks, this time you gave more than a delectable entree;

-this article was a feast.

Perhaps a song to serenade the topic
- Money by Pink Floyd

Money
Get away
You get a good job with good pay and you're okay
Money
It's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I'll buy me a football team

Money
Well, get back
I'm all right Jack
Keep your hands off of my stack
Money
It's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the high-fidelity first class travelling set
I think I need a Lear jet

Money
It's a crime
Share it fairly
But don't take a slice of my pie
Money
So they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a raise
It's no surprise that they're giving none away

"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a bruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely. It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"

Short answer Josie: Into retirement.

Really? HOG WASH. Where was Venner all those years. He needs to be relieved of his duties. It is high time. He is passe. He played with the devil; and whomsoever plays with the devil only gets devoured in the end.

I have absolutely no good thing to say. They used him just as he used them. He now needs to be sent packing. There is neither respect nor confidence left.

Peter Josie; you know this man well? I heard someone say you two were related some how? By marriage or by blood? to you or to some relative of yours?

There has been such a high turnover of staff at the ECCB for close to twenty-five years now . Staff morale it is being said has been very low at that institution.

Maybe we need an inquiry?

Imagine a central bank in this day and age issuing a report near the last quarter of 2013, telling the community that there were business closures in the first quarter of that year. Who the hell can benefit with this piece of economic history? It provides no forward guidance to either business or government, just a doomsday historical record. Yet people were paid to produce that crap. Who the hell needs that shit?

Blogger of July 11 at 1.41PM and blogger at July 11 at 8.45pm YOU ARE RIGHT ON TARGET.

I could not have said it any better.

This man is now more than ever USELESS; and must be sent packing in the public interest.

A complete waste of time he is.

Whither Mr. Dwight?

Down the shoots where he truly belongs. And getting his comeuppance.

Peter Josie; when Dwight Venner applied for the post of President of the CARIBBEAN DEVELOPMENT BANK; IT WAS SAID THAT OFFICIALS within and beyond the region were laughing out loud; and asking--- Is this how st. lucians crack jokes; believing that Dwight was a LUCIAN.They did not know that Dwight was a Vincentian.

Josie; how you dare to wish. Dwight could NEVER be President of the World Bank; and you can take that to the Bank.

Where is UBALDUS?

He should be a good candidate for Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

We need him there more than Turks and Caicos.

Dwight who? To hell with him; he has done absolutely nothing to make this region better; for the quarter of a century that he has been heading the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

His emoluments were just a very sad waste of our sub-regional resources.

He needs to go fast; if we are to get ahead in this region.

Only there for his arrogant self and self-serving desires.

He can go to hell.
