In these hard times when people have to pay 15% vat tax on medicine and health care, you would think that all this money spent to prop up someone's ego, would have been better spent on the poor,
not in St. Lucia. The rich and privileged eat well, live well and unashamedly lift up and place the statue of an ugly husband to desecrate our public places and stupid St.Lucians go pay their homage. How silly - and you dare complain how things are hard.

If only one could separate the artwork itself from the embodiment of the mischief that it represents. But no. It represents the inanity of paper independence. This was all done by a power-grabbing foreigner. The insult remains comes alive each and every February.

It may take 500 years. But it will come down. It will, if and when Saint Lucians truly learn and fully understand the true meaning of the word nationalism.

Kenny is another embarrassment. He has certainly glorified mediocrity by planting this metaphor for Saint Lucians lowered standards right in the heart of the city.

It says in effect, 'I gave you what you wanted, a statue commemorating your native inferiority. Now give me mine too. Yes. Give me my statue. I deserve one too for cleaning up all the mess left behind.' All intelligent people can see through the quid pro quo every time they walk past this embarrassing insult.
