Leonce should think before she talks. The need for nurses whether in the Caricom Region, Canada, UK or U.S.A., should be a welcome opportunity for all unemployed nurses or health professionals. Her view is entirely different to the issue at hand. The recruitment of nurses to Trinidad is strictly voluntary and unconditional.
Isn't it that the same Nurses' Council that did not want the trained nurses from Cuba? Did they now realise that they are short staffed? As far as I am concern as many that can go to T&T go for it.
Our needs should be addressed first and only then we should accept external offers. When will we begin to put island before self. The Trinidadian is Trinidadian to the Bone. What is our slogan?
HOW can I have any shame when I was brought up by your mother and father in their house with out any rooms, just one small open space. we all are one big family living in one small dirty room.
To attend nursing school is costly.Anyone who gets the opportunity to better themselves - Go for it. I am in favor of nurses migrating becuz there nothing for nurses in St. Lucia except hard work, fight- down, oppression, and no promotion. A bunch of old jealous nurses who are stuck VH and they think everyone else should be. take the T&T deal an run!!!
OH Mr.T/Kenny Anthony, your true colours continue to show what you are made of.What a disgrace. How could you possibly be educated or intelligent. I pity you.Such an angry individual living an unfulfilled life.
There should be a separate and very autonomous nurses to demand higher pay for the extra work to be done by those remaining and not going to TNT. There are no two ways about this. If we have the comparative advantage of producing nurses in CARICOM, let the CARICOM Treaty come alive and work is magic.
It follows that if demand for their services in Saint Lucia increases in any way by this, nurses should immediately demand greater compensation, benefits like lower loans on housing construction, rent, and all other forms of higher pay. This is simply following the natural law of demand and supply.
