Constitution Reform Report for Debate May 20

Seriously, is anyone of those people who made those recommendations qualified, except because of their known or unknown political leanings?

Secondly, did these people fully understand their remit?

Thirdly, can they ever convince anyone but the gullible faithful, that they completely understood the full implications of their recommendations and the burden of their responsibilities in making reasonable judgements regarding the ramifications of their recommendations?

If the answer to any of those questions is a resounding 'no', then that debate in all likelihood, is going to be nothing short of a farce!

I do not recall any seasoned political scientist of note from anywhere being invited to sit on the observer panels. Nobody from the University of the West indies' teaching staff or faculty was invited.

So garbage in. Garbage out. The people's rights and guarantees under the current dysfunctional systems cannot be expected to be upheld, but instead seriously undermined by the morons who submitted the changes.

Given the calibre of the membership of parliament, especially on the opposition side, the situation is entirely hopeless. Why? The pool of candidates as representatives in Saint Lucia leaves a great deal to be desired in terms of expected knowledge, education and experience. Just take a listen to the budget debates, if you have a high tolerance for unadulterated crap.
