Girard working for the white man to pillage the shores of far St Helen.

Shame on you, working for your slave driving master, perpetuating the humiliation of the natives.

So true...This guy looks like such a black puppet.

trust some short sighted, narrow minded idiots to say this. Instead of seeing a young, ambitious local man bringing millions of dollars worth of investment to an area that needs it most. I really hope none of your family need a job.

U know what hurts me? U will see the amount of them coming to compete with Soufriere people for the jobs that will be availabe. We complain about unemployment but oppose every effort that is being made.

As long as they protect the environment as much as possible, and it benefits the locals then it is cautiously welcome. But it sounds like the language of the spiv and advertising executive.

Protect the landscape.

Are there any public meet greet town hall format open discussions on large scale projects of this magnitude. There are eco resort standards well established for this exclusive hospitality niche.

If said developers failed to meet the "p0rous" open basket weave filters for St Lucia (a new comer to said hospitality niche) then their initial plan may have been a Swan of high pedigree posing as a common duck.

How are the locals impacted. What are their green plans and carbon footprint? (recycle/reuse /off the grid initiatives.

If the article had addressed these simple ECO friendly concerns perhaps the first couple of bloggers responses would not harbor the vintage suspicion of "wolf in sheep's clothing"?

Again focusing on high finance and time (cost factors) instead of the natural and human resources implied in ECO-resort- lives the lay person and voter with a distaste over the implied haughtiness, aloofness if not bombastic audacity that developers merit some self assessed value BEcause they had to wait for reps of the people and environment to do their homework for them.

Lets pray that this is not a grandiose scheme dressed up in the humble propositions of ecological awareness..sela....

The word is this was not approved by DCA at all!!! The matter was approved by Cabinet.

As for Mr Girard. He should be aware that the people of Malgretoute are still waiting for the false promises to be fulfilled and they do not forget the blackmail tactics used to force them to sell their land to this fella. Also good luck to him and his juice business.

This will be successful... like Praslin!

Girard is a fool and a puppet.

White men sponsor his Porsche, put the gas in the tank. He represents their wealth, he didn't bring it.

Poor World Heritage Site. What else can we sell to our Masters?

how sad that none of you can see beyond the end of your nose with the exception of one or two of those who have commented. I wish I had a white man to put gas in my tank and I am sure you do too. That is such a shallow comment because the fact is that unless you know this young man personally or his background prior to this project then where he gets his gas or how he got vehicle is really just speculation and so irrelevant.

Unfortunately the people who are benefitting from this the most do not have access to internet. So for those who can sleep well at night with their laptops and cell phone and all their children in school and shitting in a toilet that can flush its best you do not comment. There are people in soufriere who are still using an unsanitary pit, a project like this is not about gains in 6 months or a year but for the betterment of whole generation. Their parents will get a job so they can go to school with breakfast in their belly. Pitons never sent a child to school.
