I do agree. My family and i have lamented the same.
I can't believe that the Government of the day (with their offices,) in the City are blinded with the deteriorating State of Castries. No one cares and i try my best to avoid Castries as much as possible.
It is a very unsightly and dirty place with wooden shacks all over and broken side-walks. Its a National Disgrace indeed.
A city is suppose to be a pristine area that everyone would love to go, do your shopping, enjoy restaurant hopping and then return home. But Castries is none of those. It is just a dump. And sad to say, the authourities seem not to care what image or message Castries sends to Visitors/tourist.
If anyone were to ask me to name our City, i would say, Rodney Bay, not Castries.
perhaps it is cheaper to await another of its historic purification blazes, saving the expense of droves of caterpillar bulldozers.
perchance the discontent in the fire service dept is a seismic warning of an impending dante like inferno to cleanse this port city for its hindu type reincarnation
